Watching a documentary on the Muslim world i.e Constantinople, the grand buildings, mosques, infrastructure, design, technology, markets, culture etc.
Now I look at various countries and I wonder what went wrong.
What happened there? They were quite advanced at one stage weren't they?
All of Islamic culture is stolen and appropriated from Jews and Christianity.
At some point about 200 years ago, they reinterpreted the laws of Islam. The modern concept of loans and finance became illegal. If all commerce needed to be conducted in cash no projects and most corporations would vanish. There’s actually quite a a lot of issues holding them back. Fifty percent of the populace can’t work. Education was rationed because most of their countries are autocracies and educated people want a say in how things are run. They’re trying to exist in a modern world with a social structure based on clans. If anyone tries to change anything their neighbor will kill them. (There’s a lot more but I’m on a phone rather than a keyboard.)
The so-called “Great Muslim Civilization” was merely a mushroom erupting from the rotting corpse of the conquered.
Very, very correct. Moreover, the several internal contradictions in Islam itself formed what one may call "competing Islams," plural.
Dubai

Riyadh

Doha Qatar

AKA the Eastern Roman Empire.
The Moors, or Muslim people of North African descent, made significant scientific and technological advancements in Spain during their 800-year rule:
Mathematics
The Moors developed algebra, the algorithm, and the number zero. They also transitioned Europe from Roman numerals to Hindu Arabic numerals, which made calculations more reliable.
Astronomy
The Moors used astronomy to determine prayer times and adjust the calendar. They also introduced the astrolabe, a device for measuring the position of planets and stars.
Medicine
The Moors made advancements in prophetic medicine, which used hadiths to create Islamic-based medical guidelines. The ibn Zuhr family produced five generations of medical experts, including Abu Marwan ibn Zuhr, who wrote The Book of Moderation and The Book of Foods.
Hygiene
Abu l-Hasan Ali Ibn Nafi, also known as Ziryab, improved human hygiene practices by normalizing bathing, shaving, and using perfumes. He also developed a new type of deodorant and created one of the first examples of toothpaste.
Chemistry
The Moors made advancements in chemistry, which is the origin of modern chemistry.
Other contributions The Moors also introduced the concept of the game of chess and Aristotelian philosophy. The Moors' scientific and technological innovations laid the foundation for further scientific discoveries in Europe.
AI Overview
Wahhabism is a conservative Islamic movement that originated in the 18th century in Arabia
Before the rise of Wahhabism movement, it was possible for the Muslims to come up with scientific advancements.
All that “Advancement” was cultural Persian or Turkic, not Islam. Arab Islam took the region from a cultured advanced state and then Froze it in place, leading to a slow and steady erosion.
Yes. Which I've commented in #27 and #28.
Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you’ve a date in Constantinople
She’ll be waiting in Istanbul
Thanks for the answer. I had not considered that
Ah, a MICA hat! I can see right through it!
Go ogle the end of the Islamic Golden Age in 1258. Look at then before and after.
Sunni or later Shiite happens
As I understand it from Richard (?) Spencer, an expert on Islam, they really didn’t have a “golden age.” All their ideas were stolen from the Greeks. That makes sense if you look at the time since then, Islamic countries have done almost nothing in terms of scientific, mathematic, literature, or architectural breakthroughs. Again, as I understand it, the “wow” hotels in Bahrain and UAE are all by western architects.
Persia and Turkey are advanced civilizations. Arabia is not.
That’s true and oil and gas money
Sorry, pal. That is a total lie.
