Three recent high school graduates were killed and another was seriously injured when a speeding Tesla Cybertruck crashed and burst into flames in California.
The four friends were driving the futuristic-looking electric vehicle home from an event in Piedmont just after 3 a.m. Wednesday when it “jumped the curb, struck a cement wall, and then wedged in between the wall and a tree,” police told KGO News.
Someone driving behind them from the same event saw the crashed truck and managed to pull one of the passengers to safety, cops told the outlet.

At least a gas fire can be put out quickly.
I was going to restore my 56 Buick Roadmaster. Got bogged down with transmission leaking problems. But the steering is really poor in comparison with modern cars. Don’t know if I will ever finish the project.
There are a couple of those things I see prowling around our part of town.
Neither my ‘57 Bel -Air 2-doorhardtop, or my ’50 Styline Deluxe have seat belts. I make SURE I don’t drive either of them at 3:00 a.m.
It must be related to those evil SUVs.
“Article seems to imply the accident was caused by the Tesla and not the driver. Confusing.”
Even more confusing:
“The four friends were driving the futuristic-looking electric vehicle...”
According to the author, the truck was being driven by four teenagers.
This is just journalists writing their narratives with little or no technical knowledge at all. They really don’t care if there is a difference between cement and concrete as long as the proper lies pour out.
How about we blame the person who built the road because he built it in a way that allows excessive speeding.
They were probably amped up.

LOL. I have a 1992 Buick Roadmaster.
Sad! Those boys should have been in a gas powered truck, those things have never in the history of man crashed, and exploded in a fireball. Not sure what they were thinking!

(I’m not an electric fan (heh), I don’t own an electric car, and don’t look forward to the day when we all might have to. But that being said, I believe the coverage of them is skewed. ESPECIALLY if it’s a Tesla).
Damn Tesla trucks are no better than SUVs.
I recently saw a Tesla Cybertruck in my area. It had a custom license plate: "JST UGLY".
LOL That fit it for sure.....
It’s California where all the houses have cement ponds!
Same for me, in my ‘57 Handyman wagon, or my ‘57 Sedan Delivery. Never out much after 9 pm.
I bought OER and used the factory dimples in the floor pan to guide installation of a full set of seat belts in my ‘63 Impala s
. It had been purchased with the driver-only belt option, so I had something to go on shopping for the right ones to put everywhere else.
