Three recent high school graduates were killed and another was seriously injured when a speeding Tesla Cybertruck crashed and burst into flames in California.
The four friends were driving the futuristic-looking electric vehicle home from an event in Piedmont just after 3 a.m. Wednesday when it “jumped the curb, struck a cement wall, and then wedged in between the wall and a tree,” police told KGO News.
Someone driving behind them from the same event saw the crashed truck and managed to pull one of the passengers to safety, cops told the outlet.

Going home at 3 a.m.? Really? Wonder how something bad happened? Whatever...
Article seems to imply the accident was caused by the Tesla and not the driver. Confusing.
Not the Tesla trucks fault. What if it had been a Chevy EV? Or a ford EV? Or a rivian? Or a proper gas powered vehicle? Sad end to the evening regardless.
I wonder if adult beverages were involved.
From the description of what halpened, it probab!y didn’t matter what kind of passenger vehicle was involved. Unless it was a 1956 Buick Roadmaster.
It’s not that they were killed, but rather it was the MESSAGE they sent to the country in driving the truck in the first place, and that message is that they are THROUGH with oil companies and destroying the planet, and now contribute to saving the planet by driving a 3 ton truck, made in large part by, you guessed it, petroleum products.
Did the oversized electric golf cart have that autopilot thing going?
A fancy truck filled with 4 rich, spoiled, likely drunk teenagers at 3am is a recipe for disaster.
Cement is a light grayish powder with no structural properties. Would the “writer” use the terms ‘cake’ and ‘flour’ interchangeably?
That is just about the ugliest vehicle I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!
A bunch of kids borrowed Daddy’s Cyber Truck and went joy riding in the middle of the night.
Drugs and alcohol are likely involved. With excessive speed.
Results were predictable.
Other than that the Tardsla is a great car.
My niece was in a head on collision in an old Suburban and a BMW. 5 high school grads, the 2 boys in the BMW died. The 3 girls in the Suburban had head injuries but 3 years later they are OK. Parents should know better. My daughter drove a Hummer. It was a safe slow car.It is a terrible hard lesson to learn but it is the same for decades.
If it had been a 1956 Buick Roadmaster the front and rear passengers would have gone through the windshield and the driver would have been impaled on the steering column.
I was gonna say that.
I’d rather be in a serious crash in a 2024 Honda Civic than a 1956 Roadmaster.
Correct, it is the ugliest thing on Wheels. Makes me vomit!
Yeah, but the Roadmaster could be hosed out, detailed and reused.
Driver texting?
