No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
Tyson was very concerned seeing nully with a CPAP...
I can imagine that was concerning.
Were you able to sleep with the CPAP?
Good morning. Happy Friday!
Dis our hallway. You can’t haz dis hallway.
We have even cooler weather today. I put on a light jacket to walk The Princess this morning.
I don’t understand insulation. In the winter, this apartment can’t keep the heat in. In the summer, it can’t let the cool in. I actually had to run a fan yesterday even though outside it was very nice.
Another lucky guess 3 on Wordle. Although I got a LOT of help from guess 2.

No idea what teh weather is going to do today... One forecaster says no rain, weather app says no rain, local radio forecast says t-storms... Cloudy and cooler about the only thing they all agree on...

What a beautiful crew!
Good Friday Morning!
Another week races to completion...
Duh, if I wasn’t so jacked up about using my ‘second word can be used’ strategy, I would have looked a bit further and saw that the actual answer was still unused...

He was concerned and puzzled. Calmed down after muffled reassurances and petting.
I slept pretty well for about 5 hours with only one interruption to let Tyson out.
That and I cleared a shelf on the bookcase for the machine, then reread the instructions. It has to be lower than my head son condensate doesn’t run down the tube into my mask. This required moving a nightstand next to the bed, taking over some of the space his bed had.
He rolled with the punches pretty well.
Good thing he’d never seen Alien, else he would have thought it was a Alien face hugger...
Our dogs don’t like things to change much at all... it sort of bugs them...
From his point of view there was something crawling on Dad’s face!
5 hours sounds pretty good for the first night sleeping with an Alien trying to lay an egg in your body. Hopefully your ability to sleep with it will only improve.
Exactly. There’s something on his monkey’s face, AND and something else displacing part of his own bed.
He did well.
I think so, still need to tweak the setting a bit. I woke up a couple times with my cheeks inflated into the mask.
The humidifier is a big plus.
Looking forward to a weekend addressing my own home.
All the kids are outta the house doing various things. I have a couple of easy things left to get my rental snappy for my incoming tenant in a few days. Maybe get the Pine-Sol and the damp mop and give it a final freshening.
But I’m really intent on some overdue “Spring Cleaning” at my own place, maybe make a haul to the dump...
Absolutely get a few lingering irritations dealt with to reduce the level of psychic noise encountered walking through my own front door.
Like... I need some SHELTER, man
This little bugger, here... Full of trickses, it was.

I know how you feel. I’m so ready to get to my home and get life going. But we have to take care of this estate.
Oh, well — yeah — that, too. I live with that as a sort of low-key backdrop to everything else.
Andrew Oliver sticks the landing with his take, though...

I had in mind getting my own physical space to be less “noisy”; knock down some clutter, fix a couple things, do some cleaning — just get a few basic things done so it’ll be more of an “Ahhhhh...” coming home every day.
Over 8 hours of CPAP sleep last night. I feel pretty good. Still need to kick up the humidifier a little bit, and figure out how to get it to let me sleep on my stomach.
How is the CPAP working, getting some better sleep?
I have to address my workshop... since I haven’t been doing much work in there while I have been doing outside stuff, it has become a place where it is easy to just pile stuff up, and not put anything away...
I have to decide if I am going to make space to pull my tractor in... I have a fair amount of hydraulic cylinder work to do on it, and I have to decide if it is work the effort to get out of the sun and humidity... and be able to work in an air conditioned environment... the biggest stumbling block to that is a big pile of lumber and sheet goods that will have to be moved....
