Walt Disney reached an agreement to pay $43.3 million to resolve a lawsuit claiming its California female employees earned $150 million less than their male colleagues over an eight-year period, the plaintiffs’ attorneys confirmed on Monday.
A motion has been filed to seek approval of the settlement, which would cover a broad range of salaried Disney employees in California, Variety reports.
If the petition is granted, thousands of women who have worked for Disney since April 1, 2015, will receive checks to compensate for the wage disparity.

How did Disney know what a woman is?
How were they able to identify the women? I would have argued that the men are actually women but don’t know it yet. Respect their gender!
The team of male attorneys took their 149.99 million dollars, and each of the mistreated female employees received $10.82 each. But at least it’s non-taxable. /s
Valid points.
I’ll be surprised if the lawyers didn’t take all $150 million, and the women got discount coupons for ten movie screenings and some merch.
Interesting thought.
Time for Disney to create more DEI positions to address the pay disparity.
Suckers
AFK. BBL
Male chauvinism at Disney goes way back. Disney made lots of Mickey Mouse cartoons. Did he ever make a single one with Minnie Mouse as the protagonist? Not to mention the Mickey Mouse Club. (At least they did let girls be members of that. But I think the summer camp Spin and Marty went to was restricted to boys.)
Full time vs part time
Seasonal vs year round
Skilled tradesman vs janitorial vs clerical
10 year longevity vs newly hired DEI hire
This whole 77% of what men make is all rubbish. Otherwise, only women would be employed.
EC
They should also require Disney to keep a biologist on staff...
I never noticed that. If I had, it wouldn’t have mattered to me anyway.
Have you seen some of those peculiar characters? If, a a child, I saw some big, bearded dude in a dress in an amusement park, I would have run the other way.
