So far, almost nobody in the west fully comprehends the Oreshnik weapon system just demonstrated by Russia. Hat tip to Ted Postol, Scott Ritter and Brian Berletic, the only 3 people I've found so far who fully understand this. I've done the math on the kinetic energy of the submunitions (using estimates for mass), and I've studied up on what's publicly known about these weapons so far. My conclusion? NATO is done. The west has no idea what just hit them. Russia's Oreshnik weapon system is checkmate for NATO and the USA. All U.S. aircraft carriers can be destroyed in minutes. All U.S. military bases, all underground bunkers, all ICBM launch sites, naval shipyards, etc., can be destroyed with NON-NUCLEAR kinetic energy via the Oreshnik.

“ Does it fire at MACH 10/11,000 fps?”
No. What’s your point?

I don’t think I was really addressing you directly, I think I was just doing stream-of-conscious and happen to hit reply on your post, adding a point I forgot to make elsewhere.
Aren’t we in the process of fielding hypersonic weapons in the army after they were delayed for a year, I think the navy is also getting it?
Russia built a new satellite with a Neutron Beam Weapon. They could shoot at another satellite and send it crashing to Earth. The scientist who invented it defected to the US and helped us build the same weapon. He did so because he thought it unfair for just Russia to have such a dangerous weapon.
Ever hear of it ?
When the blades in Jet turbine engines wear out, they are refurbished. New ones are very expensive. A scientist invented a new welder. An Electron Beam welder. Welds seamlessly through titanium. They but a block of titanium up against the worn blade (machined flat first) and close the lid and a beam of electrons coming from a moving nozzle (much like a 3d printer) welds the two together. The lid is to seal the chamber. The welding is done in a vacuum.
Ever hear of it ?
The first item happened about 45 years ago. The Soviets tested it over the US. I know because I watched the test.
The second item is even older. Probably 55 years ago. I know because I saw a demo of the welder. This one was open to the public, as it wasn’t a weapon. I was just pointing out that few ‘know’ of it, even though it was in common everyday use way back then.
Oops. I meant the other FIVE missiles. I had a small brain cloud.
Where do these fit into with kinetic weapons?

What happens when you propel one of the outside balls at MACH 10?
There is no ‘tech’ to it. You just change warheads. Fire the missile up to the edge of space and let it come back down. Have vanes/winglets to provide minimal guidance so it hits that target.
The deal with this missile is that it is termed an INTERMEDIATE RANGE BALLISTIC MISSILE, does not have a Nuclear Warhead and is not subject to the treaties that cover INTER CONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILES and Nuclear Weapons.

Maybe you should, instead, go to the 3rd grade and work on your reading comprehension. ICBM, SLBM, mean “Ballistic”.
Musk could put rods of god into space with the starship/superheavy quickly. Turn him loose to weaponize space in 6-12 months.
It's important to have the intel on the quality/quantity of these missiles...iow, the current state of this new Russian weapons system.
Hey! Warmonger! Read this repeatedly and slowly so that you can get a true sense of how much I despise you and your type.
In the face of a MIRV hypersonic weapon that put 36 vehicles on target at Mach 10, and which Russians say is nuclear capable, you respond with “there’s a big difference between a one-off and a mature weapons platform” - meaning you are in no way convinced there is any problem, and would need a lot more to confirm that any real threat exists.
Because you are a real smart guy and so further escalation is worth it to prompt a further demonstration find out if this is a mature weapons program or just a lucky shot! We will need multiple missiles and at least a couple of nuclear armed shots to truly know if that “weapons platform” is “mature”, right Mr military lingo analytical genius?
Perhaps the next time when they give 72 hours notice, you can run over to the strike point with your cel phone camera and look up with your mouth hanging open.
Because you are a Mouth Breather, ie retardedly stupid. Dangerously stupid. Now do you get the joke? You are the joke!
Where would you like the next demonstration? F YOU!
I get it. Unmitigated belligerance is the stock-in-trade of the insecure.
My comment was that we need more intel, which I hope we the US already has, on the state of the Russian hyper program.
I think the readers get that.
In a general sense, I am concerned about the Chinese militarizing low earth orbit. And perhaps the Moon.
But I think Space X will get us re-established on the Moon in relatively short order. Especially with a pragamatic Trump admin back in charge.
There was talk of NASA rethinking the viability of their Artemis program. If so, that would leave it all up to Space X, it would seem. I don’t see Blue Origin making great leaps in the near future. I am no longer even considering Boeing w/o a sugar daddy fed gov funding them.
Yes I am sure you imagine there are “readers” just waiting for each pearl of wisdom that drips from your chin.
And yes, consider me a belligerent. I do.
I meant that the new tech isn’t ballistic, you rude moron.
Maybe you meant "they aren't kinetic"?
I was referring to the new Russian technology not being ballistic. That's why my next line was "Some useful details are provided here...." Sorry about the confusion.
