I wondered about those. In a 2000 bomb strike, wouldn’t those sites be vacant of missiles?

Don’t feel alone

I’m roughly 50 miles from a major military primary target (not saying where)

I have it on good authority that all of Russia’s nukes are now duds. I heard it from a Zeeper.

“””””If fifteen or twenty - maybe fewer - of those targets were hit, we’d probably be screwed no matter where we live.””””

For some reason people overlook that and it applies to us as well as Russia, nuclear war doesn’t need to kill our populations, it just needs to destroy enough of our system that it knocks us off the world stage for a couple of decades.

9/11 was almost a disaster economically and it would be nothing compared to nukes not just hitting a building in NYC but hitting NYC, LA, Houston, and a few dozen ports and cities and manufacturing centers, aside from the immediate nuclear retaliation, America would not be dominant on the world stage for many years afterward, and would you want to live in Russia’s neighborhood and see how it would carve up the remains of Russia?
We don’t have Red China and North Korea, and all those Stans ready to pick and exploit the bones if we are wounded.

That is absolutely correct

The grocery stores will be cleaned out inside 72 hours max

With most of it gone the first 24 hours

I worked there (SE Oregon) in the mid-70s and it’s pretty empty, true. I really like that country.

Those must be the ones from the list Biden gave to the Russians.

All the dead man switches would have flipped after the first 25 warheads. Command and control would get hit first from the subs loitering off all three of our coasts.

But that area where Oregon, Idaho and Nevada come together seems very free from strikes.

Unfortunately I live in the triangle in eastern Washington. About 10 miles from Fairchild AFB. It use to be part of Strategic Air Command with nuks and B-52s but for the last 40 years we are just a tanker base.

Either someone didn’t know the Army Depot had been closed, or someone doesn’t believe there isn’t still something there worth hitting.

I call BS on at least one black dot on this map. There is nothing that could remotely be considered a target on the border between Washington and Idaho at the Canadian border.

I’m close enough to Atlanta to be done for.

In a nuclear event, I’d honestly prefer instant death to radiation poisoning where I’d die slowly. Just sayin.

These days I live about 22 miles from Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, but not generally downwind, plus there’s a pretty good range of hills between there and here. I don’t know where D-M is on the range of nuclear targeting priority. There are plenty of things I worry more about than nuclear war.

Yeah. The map is from 2015 and the Special Weapons mission ended in 2002.

It used to take about 30 to 40 minutes for a first strike to hit from say Russia.
Now, with the hypersonic missiles, I dont know.
I do know this, on both coasts, they will be hit before the decision can be made to retaliate.
It takes right around 6 to 8 minutes for the decision to be made by the POTUS after confirmation of an attack.
If your interested there is a documentary called “first strike” which spells it out completely. Two parts/several parts and the second part is interviews by former, at that time potential, presidential advisors.
Although it is from the 80s, it pretty much is the same except of advanced computer systems that are in play now.

The documentary is on YouTube.

If there is a big strike in all the major missile fields-WY, MONTANA and ND, A MAJOR portion of our grain as well as water resources will be contaminated for up to many years.
All that fallout will run down the Missouri River system...for example, and into the Mississippi.

We will starve to death. In Russia the same. In bum effed Egypt the same. It will kill indiscriminately. Those that had nothing to do with it will die.

And we have rear admirals making policy statements that the USA is ready to fight a nuclear war. As we do on this site.

The whole worlds gone frigging insane.
