Russian Lawmaker Warns Putin Has 'Every Right' to Attack NATO Nations
Newsweek ^ | 11/22/2024 | Jesus Mesa

A senior Russian lawmaker has declared that President Vladimir Putin is justified in targeting NATO nations aiding Ukraine, as tensions escalate over military support to Kyiv.

Andrey Kartapolov, head of the Russian State Duma's defense committee, said the supply of Western weapons enabling strikes on Russian territory gives Moscow "every right to strike military facilities in NATO countries" that assist Ukraine, according to Russian news agency TASS.

"Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has made a decision that we fully support," Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin stated on his Telegram channel. He described the move as "an appropriate and long-awaited response," adding that the U.S. and its European allies were "using missiles to strike Russian territory."

"Our country has the right to target military facilities of states that attack us," Volodin continued. "Despite Western claims that Russia will not dare to act, it will—and it has every right to do so," he asserted.

A non Nato country.

Funded by Nato countries. Armed by Nato countries. Linked by Nato countries. "Intel" by NATO countries. Radicalized by NATO countries.

So what can we conclude? Ukrainian and Russian youth slaughtered for whom?

A non-Nato country? Smh

They call THAT “Winning”

At least we should have those rare earth metals for all the ineffective billions in cash we have spent.

But no.

Zeepers want Putin to have them.

Key word: kinda.

And the analogy doesn’t work because countries have different rules than individuals.

My “Moronic” comment?
Russia is a nuclear power, nobody is going to pose a threat to their territory except another nuclear power.
IIRC Ukraine gave up all it’s nukes so how are they a threat to Russia? Is Ukraine full of religious crazed nut jobs committing suicide to kill Russians in the name of their Moslem god?
You compare apples to oranges.
Afghanistan is way different than Ukraine.
I worked with very educated Ukrainians for years, Americans scared the hell out of them. Mainly because American citizens are so well armed and the government for the most part has no idea who has guns and where they are. Tsk tsk.
Even a state like Hawaii which has mandatory registration has no idea what the compliance rate is( it anecdotally, is very low)
Russia has no “right” to fear or invade Ukraine. Russia should fear that it’s invasion activities have so frightened Germany that the Germans are re-vitalizing their Wehrmacht, Swedes are taking sides, and Finland along with much of Europe is prepping their civilians for war.
Russia had best worry about its far East territory that it stole from China, they might want it back.

The is biggest load of bullsh$t I've ever read.

Of course, Ukraine possessing missiles that could strike Russian Federation territory is a national security threat.

And, the Russians had zero reason to trust or NATO not to give the Ukrainians nuclear weapons once puppet government there was installed hostile to Moscow.

We sure as hell wouldn't have tolerated something similar happening in Mexico. Nor should we.

Idiots like you want to keep poking the bear and expect the bear to keep taking it. And because of that we're closer to WW III and nuclear war than we ever were during the Cold War.

So, only nuclear weapons can kill people or strike strategically important targets?

Are you retarded?

How did we "win" the Iraq wars and wars in Afghanistan without nukes?

You're not the sharpest tool in the shed.

We took over Iraq and Afghanistan so win in that respect.

What failed was the nation building. We left both countries in worse shape than they were before intervened.

And, that is exactly what is happening in Ukraine. Our meddling has made things worse.

Both Iraq wars and the war we setoff in Ukraine are example of the total failure of neocon foreign policy.

We are, correctly, viewed as the world's bully. Our meddling in countries makes them worse.

Neoconism must DIE, permanently.

I’m going to shock you!
I agree, we should not be in the business
of nation building.
We cannot even take care of ourselves.
That being said we need to keep an international
presence to watch over our interests.
As we learned in WW II isolationism does not work.

I agree, we should not be in the business of nation building.

How is what we've done in Ukraine any different than what we need in Afghanistan or Iraq?

We essentially colonized the country so the Bidens, George Soros and BlackRock could work with corrupt oligarchs to get rich.

We couldn't have cared less that we had to back, fund and arm neo-Nazis. Or that we setoff a civil war and screwed over those in Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea, who are ethnically or pro-Russian.

So, pretending the war in Ukraine is a result of Russian aggression is absurd. It WAS RESULT OF OUR MEDDLING, the same kind of meddling we did in Iraq.

You don't think it was an act of aggression for us to help foment the Maiden revolution and side with the Ukrainian nationalists in cutting off Russia's access to it naval base in Crimea, one Russia has operated since before the US constitution was written?

We promised the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO in the early '90s and then installed a puppet government hostile to Moscow and that wanted to cutoff access to its only warm water naval base.

That blatant aggression on our and NATO's part.

Russia didn't have to be our enemy. We made the Russians our enemy and pushed them into an alliance with China. That was incredibly stupid.

Un sure why you such a “Hard on “ for NATO,
but Russia has never been a reliable partner.
So that is that.
Bottom line Russia invaded a sovereign nation
regardless of how you feel about that nation, that is fact.
Were I Russian. I’d establish a buffer zone and establish
trade with my neighbors.
Makes everybody feel safe and secure.
Russia is still in conquers mode.
They scare everybody.

It's BRAIN DEAD CLICHE.

WE INVADED SOVEREIGN COUNTRIES. Iraq and Afghanistan were sovereign countries.

There GOOD reasons to invade sovereign countries.

Rent a brain.

Un sure why you such a “Hard on “ for NATO

You're the one hard on...For Putin and Russia.

The globalist stooges running NATO and "liberal world order" (the ones backing mass migration to Western nations, the LGBT and Green agendas) are INFINITELY BIGGER THREAT to the citizens of Western nations than freeping Russia.

Russia wouldn't be a threat if we hadn't gone out of our way to make the Russians our enemy.

Yes, the game plan -- one spelled out in RAND Corporation Report in 2019 and repeated recently by Estonia's Kaja Kallas has been to break Russia into six different countries so we can raid of its natural resources, just like partially succeeded doing in Ukraine.

Lindsey Graham admitted that proxy war in Ukraine is about the $10 to $12 trillion of resources there.

You're backing greedy, globalist pigs that have us on the verge of WW III.

You're either ignorant, dishonest or not very bright.

How much Boeing stock do you have?

How much has it gone up since the proxy war in Ukraine started?

You get off like the defense industry does on stirring up wars and Russian hatred because it increases your net worth.

That would be my guess.
