Maybe I'm slow, but I just realized why Gaetz goes to Justice Dept.

I would have said, "I get it; Gaetz will be appointed by recess appointment, but won't his appointment still have a pointless political cost?" I mean, he's innocent until proven guilty, but hardly exonerated, and it's all still kind of a yucky situation for an Attorney General to have been in.

Then I realized: the way to get rid of him is to appoint the next guy he picks. You want to get rid of Gaetz? Then you have to vote for (say for humorous example) Mark Levin as your next Attorney General.

BRILLIANT!

“There’s also a good possibility that some of these are just clownish “appointments” aimed at getting attention and pissing a lot of D.C. insiders off. LOL.”

Complete nonsense. Could you identify which of these are clownish?

Well. I knew Mark did it because I was a faithful listener of his. I didn't listen to Rush much. Thus, I really wasn't aware of his stance against Trump. But, he too must have changed his tune because I only remember his saying good things about Trump.

When Trump fist announced he was running, I admit that I snickered, but then started listening to him. I said to my wife, what do you think about Trump? She said, I like what he is saying, and I responded , exactly. Because, that was what I was thinking about him myself. Here was someone actually talking about the issues that resonated that no other Republican would utter for fear of being labeled a racist, even though it was never about race.

Ted Cruz, who I was initially supporting never broached the topics, in fact he was criticizing Trump. for saying what he was saying. I dumped Cruz for his lack of willingness to be honest, and never looked back again.

The other one was Glenn Beck. His Cheetos stunt, where he & his two cohosts buried their faces in a bowl of Cheetos was so juvenile that I turned sway from them also, because if he thinks so little of my opinion, then he must not be as politically attuned to the mood of those people who are dedicated supporters of the Republican Party. When I saw how the Republican Party reacted about Trump, then I became a far less supportive of the Republican Party, but supported them nonetheless because Trump had to have people supporting him. When they refused to support him after he was elected, then I lost it for the Republican Party.

Looking back, I almost grateful that they did what they did, because then my support for Trump grew exponentially. That's my Trump conversion story, and I stand firmly behind it. πŸ™‚πŸ‘ 🀣

Yes indeed. He showed that with fighter with Kevin McCarthy, whose political career he himself ruined. Thought he could lie to the American public and remain as Speaker, I don’t think so buddy. I swear if Mike Johnson does again what he did last time, assist the Democrats, then he needs the same treatment also. But it won’t be Gaetz leading the charge since he resigned his House seat.

You misjudge those two men’s value. Notably, Gaetz is the one they went after viciously and illegally to try to destroy.

forgive me, still waking up.

He showed that with fighter with Kevin McCarthy>/b>

That above sentence should have read:

He showed that he was a fighter, with Kevin McCarthy

“And Collins, Murkowski, McConnell, Cornyn and Thune aren’t going to hold open the confirmation door for Gaetz.”

Yes they are. And here is why. Senators, just like any other member of the legislative branch needs to bring home the bacon. With Musk heading up DOGE, the possibility of cuts to their pet projects is now a reality. With the majority of Americans behind Trump, Telling A Senator to reconsider or lose money for their pet projects will now have an impact.

These days, it is just as easy to build up oil programs from the gulf as it is for Alaska.

They went on a witch hunt against him because he was/is strongly pro-Trump - by your “logic” we shouldn’t have voted for President Trump.

I saw Hannity tonight, both he and Lara Trump were making the case to end lawfare and to not do to the left what they did to Trump/us.

That is wrong headed. Unless they pay a price, they will not grasp *WHY* it is wrong for the government to persecute people for their political beliefs.

Pain brings an understanding.

If we go after liberals who actually broke the law, they will soon decide that going after political opponents is the worst thing ever, and they will have that message seared into their consciousness for the foreseeable future.

And i've never liked Hannity. He talks too much, won't let his guests speak when they are the only ones I want to hear, and he involves himself in political blunders of his own making.

THAT is the BEST idea I have read!!

Here is another one that I read last night. The Constitution under Article II, Section 3 allows the president to adjourn congress under certain circumstances.

There is speculation that Trump will use this power to adjourn congress, and then appoint his entire slate through recess appointments while he has congress adjourned.

That would be hilarious. They would blow a gasket!

There's rumors that Desantis is going to put his AG Ashley Moody in Rubio's seat.

I wouldn't be surprised. I can't see DeSantis wanting to do Trump any favors, so I doubt he would offer the seat to Gaetz.

But who knows? Politics makes for strange bedfellows.

Very cagey...I like it. I see Gaetz as being most effective in such a role; giving the Rats more headaches in DOJ than in the House. And that pending, pesky Ethics report probably is on his mind; it may not matter now...
