President-elect Donald J. Trump announced on Tuesday that his nominee to lead the C.I.A. would be John Ratcliffe, a former Texas congressman who served as the director of national intelligence during Mr. Trump’s first term.
Mr. Trump called Mr. Ratcliffe a “warrior for Truth and Honesty with the American Public” on his social media account. As the national intelligence director, Mr. Ratcliffe served as the president’s chief adviser on intelligence issues.
As a congressman, Mr. Ratcliffe fought on Mr. Trump’s behalf, helping to pursue investigations into Hunter Biden, the president’s son, and repeatedly criticizing the investigations into ties between Russia and Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign.

45 learned the hard way. Now 47 will pay the Satanists back in full.
Very good choice.
👍
Weirding me out how all these enemy print pubs are scooping these announcements.
If he can stay alive.
45 Learned what?
You think he hired backstabbers because he’s a doofus? A guy who earned 9 billion from 2 million without any illegal or negative activity that the world’s expert dirt manufacturers in the Obama Clinton team couldn’t dig up in 10 years of search and frame?
No.

Than and Karoline Leavitt on X are the only two sources that matter. Everything else is rumor or leaks from Trump campaign, purposefully or not, or are made up bs by the Legacy Media.
Trump has admitted exactly what I said...that he learned he needs to choose better people around him. It’s one of the only admissions 45 has ever made.
Ka$h needs to be a roving Administrative Bureaucracy decimater.
Thanks
It’s linear thinking.
I didn’t know much about Ratcliffe, so I went to the enemy source . . . Wikipedia. It is absolutely awful. Wikipedia is now so obviously biased against any conservative it can no longer try to hide the fact.
If I take them at their word, I guess I know how old he is and where he went to college. Beyond that, I am skeptical about everything they say.
That said, he is also a top pick for CIA Director and he has the added advantage that he has already been vetted for Director of National Intelligence so he has already been given all necessary security clearances and can be fast tracked for the job to hit the ground running,
The president can appoint anyone he wants. The Senate may not confirm (see: recess appointments) his choice without a security clearance.
Look, Hilary Clinton had a security clearance. Bill Clinton would probably never have gotten one in 1992, if instead of applying for the job of president, he applied to be a Defense Department lawyer.
The president can grant access (i.e., give a security clearance) to anyone he wants to. The background investigation is a way of reducing the risk that shifty characters like Bill Clinton, and his wife for that matter, ever get to handle classified material.
Yup.
