Running low on time and not sure what to make for dinner? Throw a frozen pizza into the oven. Need a late-night snack but don't want to order Uber Eats again? A frozen pizza is an easy solution. From healthier options to questionable, low-quality picks, you'll find an array of choices in your grocer's freezer. One of the most popular is, of course, the pepperoni pizza, which adds a dose of spicy meat to the classic plain cheese.

Hideaway is still one of the best and they have several locations now. Expensive though.

“Every place in the US has at least one family run pizza joint ...”

True. I’ll make an exception for Pizza King, tho (parent company of Clara’s in Richmond, Ind.)

But also, why would anyone go to Chipotle when you can go to Ricky’s, La Perlita, El Camino Real, San Marcos, Los Primos, Nopales, etc. etc. etc.

Realer is betterer

Most of the frozen pizzas on that list are awful.

I agree with you that Freschetta is better. Another good brand is Tombstone.

But, the best (imho) is Wild Mike’s Ultimate Pizza.

A local store used to sell it, but they stopped. Now, I only buy the other brands when they’re on sale.

You've never been to Italy. In Italy, if you eat pizza with your hands, you're considered barbaro.

Never had a decent frozen pizza, and I don’t really enjoy left over pizza as much as fresh from a pizza joint either, although I’ll take the leftover one from a pizza joint over frozen. There are 4 pizza joints within a 10 minute drive from where we live, and our Township has a population of only about 4k people. Fairly rural for N.J. Another dozen or so within a 20 minute drive. I can pre order and pick up, be back home in about 20 - 25 minutes. Isn’t that about how long it takes to heat a frozen one? Next option is make our own with pre-made pizza dough. A lot of pizza joints sell their own dough, you can save for a rainy day.

Why would anyone by a mass-produced frozen pizza when just about every place in the USA has at least one family run pizza joint?

Cost.

I wish they’d posted the ingredients list. I’d like to see how many contain seed oils, and nitrates.
