One day in the midst of a vicious election campaign whose outcome, Donald Trump had warned, could threaten America’s very survival, the former president spent 90 minutes with a foul-mouthed 24-year-old who has achieved a certain kind of stardom by playing videogames for an online audience.
In meeting Adin Ross in August for a livestreamed chat, Trump was entering the manosphere.
It is an online universe of YouTubers, podcasters, live-streamers, online pranksters and more. They vary wildly in their tone, substance and obsessions. Some are jokey; some are vile. Running through them all is a certain unreformed notion of “Bro-dom.”
Trump may have been a pilgrim in this strange land. But he had a native to guide him: his 18-year-old, 6-foot-9-inch son Barron, a freshman at New York University.
“My son Barron says hello,” Trump told Ross at the outset of their chat. “He’s a big fan of yours.”
“What’s up, Barron?” Ross chirped. “Yeah, Barron’s awesome. Amazing. Great kid. He’s tall. Very tall.”
This week, the manosphere, the kind of secret that young men tend to hide on their laptops or at the bottom of a sock drawer, was dragged into the spotlight when Trump won a commanding election victory. It was fueled, in part, by vigorous support from the kind of young men more typically concerned with videogames than voting.
In his victory speech in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the triumphant president-elect saluted Dana White, the bullet-headed boss of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the manosphere’s sport of choice and the sun at the center of its universe.

And they got to watch powerful women named Hillary,Nancy,Liz,Kathy,Fani,Leticia,Kamala wage war on Trump in the most overt ways that revealed that certain women with power are a clear and present danger to life,liberty and the pursuit of happiness to them and theirs, if they ever get into the most powerful office in the world..

You don’t know what you are talking about. We do have the internet now, and if you had checked, you would have found that the majority of the baby boom generation identify as Republican, more so than any other generation.

Yep, he cheated on his wife Vanessa, the mother of his five kids and there's a rumor going around that he cheated on his current fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle back in September. They've been engaged for almost four years.
That's his life. His choices. Kimberly Guilfoyle is older. And she's all plastic. So I was not sure about that one there. She reminds me a little of Jeff Bezos' current wife, Lauren Sanchez. Plastic.

The author assumes that “bros” which is as pejorative a term as the terma “chicks” or “broads”, need to be “reformed”. There is no attempt to conceal the sexism / misanthropy. And the author seems to think that men are the ones who have these clandestine forms of entertainment and advice.. does the author realize that there are a number of magazines which are primarily directed at women, and probably 99.9% of them explicitly or subtly endorse any woman who runs for office (provided she is a Democrat). Glamour, Mademoiselle, Ms., The Ladies Home Journal, Teen Vogue, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Oprah, The View, Instyle, Woman’s Day, Lifetime. Authors like Danielle Steel, Carolyn Brown, Joyce Carol Oates direct their work to female audiences. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! As JD would say to this writer “Do you hear yourself?”

You don’t remember your history, it was JFK’s immigration changes passed in 1965 that was needed to keep the democrats alive, in 1972 only 46% of the under 30 vote went Democrat.
Even the “Great Society” was taken from JFK’s “New Frontier” of domestic social and economic reform.
