The most consequential change that can be made is the elimination of permanent voter registration. Make every voter register again for every election. That way you’d eliminate this idiocy where people are still on the voter rolls long after they’ve died or moved to another state.

I think there should be a uniform voting standard for the Presidential elections in all states.

If we are electing a person to be POTUS over all States, then the standard should be the same.

That would go a long way in cutting out the cheating and illegal voting.

Article I Section 4: “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.”

It is my understanding that Congress writes election laws and then the states enforce the laws.

The process for a presidential election is laid out clearly in the U.S. Constitution. The 2024 presidential election hasn’t even taken place yet.

The bastardized spectacle you see on Election Day every four years is NOT a real presidential election.

The memes about Biden orchestrating this election are hilarious. I just saw one with biden on the phone telling them to turn off the machines. No steal. Harris will rue the day she crossed Joe Biden.

Elections are entirely the responsibility of the several State Legislatures. Fedzilla is already too big.

Yes, but there must be minimal federal standards. Lara suggested 1) citizenship and 2) voter ID.

Other considerations for standardization might be mail-in/absentee, receipt deadlines, paper ballots, counting deadlines.

If Florida --one of the largest, in 2 time zones--can do it fairly and quickly, so can the rest. The current mish-mash invites distrust in the election system and if that fails, so does the country, eventually.

Democrats usually win in battleground states from massive ballot fraud.
Time for a total overhaul of the voting process.
Lara Trump is a really tough smart lady.

Our voting rules were designed when we were a small rural country.

The 60 days between voting and changeover was designed for horseback times.

Everybody votes.
No RCV
ONE PAPER PALLOT.
MSNY VOTING PLACES

Personally I agree with you. Should be the death penalty, but it will never get passed. 10 years mandatory hard labor in a real prison is more likely to become law.

That’s simply not true. Congress can write SOME election laws, but elections are administered by the states and states have their own laws for election processes.

The most notable federal election standard for elections is simply that elections for federal office must be held on the designated Election Day. But there’s nothing that prevents a state from holding its own elections for state offices on a different day.

Uniformity of standards for national voting would be outstanding.

It would be a welcome miracle to do just one thing that made sense in this country. Who knows? It might just start a trend we could get used to?

States rights for states stuff but this crap of screwing up the Union is nothing short of insane.
