The congressional task force investigating the July and September assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump says the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has "failed to produce" certain materials the task force requested as part of its ongoing probe into both incidents.
On Oct. 3, the task force sent a letter to the ATF about 17 "requests for production as well as three categories of requests for select transcribed interviews with relevant ATF agents who provided support or response functions in connection with the" assassination attempts against Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, and in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The ATF responded with a correspondence on Oct. 22 that "is less than four and half pages in length, two and a half of which consist of summary narratives," the task force said in its letter published Wednesday.
"To date, the ATF has failed to produce a single document responsive to the Task Force’s requests. This failure is underscored by the fact that the ATF failed to meet the Task Force’s October 10, 2024, deadline to begin rolling production of documents," the letter states.
The task force also described the ATF's response as "woefully insufficient in view of the Task Force’s requests for physical documents and materials."
"Both the Task Force and the American people expect answers about how 20-year-old Thomas Crooks planned and executed a nearly successful assassination, including significant evidence found at the home of Thomas Crooks – a suspected improvised explosive device (IED), materials to make IEDs as well as additional explosives discovered in Crooks’ vehicle," the letter reads.
"While ATF played no role in coordinating the event itself, ATF provided meaningful assistance retrieving and investigating evidence connected to Crooks’ firearm and residence."

Trump assassination attempt: Secret Service failures may warrant discipline, agency report says
IF ever there was a federal agency in need of abolishment, outside of the IRS, it would be the ATF. They’re right up there with the FBI in corruption. Everyday folks just don’t realize how bad it is.
Yep, what good is the ATF tben for? Only manufacturing stories and not doing real competent evidentiady work?
All institutions are becoming Potemkin/DEI, replacing core competence with virtue signing and image SNL cutes, like that carbon submarine that sunk.
Defund this useless garbage
The paper shreading and file deletion happening now is also unparalleled.
Some potential whistleblowers will start to “suicide”.
I have stepped away from the Butler set up for a while now, but things that struck me as extremely odd was the ATF’s involvement immediately after the shooting. There was a business suited guy up on the roof as soon as the officers got on the roof. He said something about checking with the ATF - sending a picture to the local ATF office - and I think it had to do with establishing the identity of the dead body on the roof. Now why would the ATF be in this picture? I believe it was Yearick’s dead body and not Crook’s body that was on the roof. Other odd coverup actions following the shooting was hosing down the blood off the roof (DNA) and immediately cremating the shooters body. Where is Yearick?
Waco taught me everything I need to know about the ATF
Maybe soon after he takes office, Trump will furlough everyone at the ATF and other intransigent agencies. Then, he might invite people back who will be cooperative in investigations and point out who the bad actors are. Bring back people who will immediately release files that obstructive agencies have refused to release so far. The files or your jobs, let them choose.
If Pelosi is found to be responsible for Butler, she should be charged with murder and imprisoned for life.
If you were our Deep State, would you trust an American to make that shot?
I’m betting our Deep State had help.
And I don’t mean just American.
I guess that is probably true.
Look ,the assassination attempt would have been stopped by every day joes if they were in charge of that detail. There is no way the little Fu#ker would have gotten a shot off. He would have been drug off the roof and his ass kicked to a bloody pulp.
The S.S is a mess and all involved with it should be fired . New applicants should be reviewed and hired .
Don’t forget how the guy’s house had been totally scrubbed when authorities got there to search. Even the silverware was gone.
Yep, as there have already been multiple articles on FR indicating most/all of fed gov were purged of right-leaning folks during Biden’s tenure. That’s how the commies roll.
Trump will have an uphill battle rooting out all these filthy bassturds, but I would automatically require all prospective agency heads pass a polygraph exam, ESPECIALLY his incoming AG.
There’s also reason to believe Trump’s previous cabinet was illegally “unmasked”, along with many/all of the GOP, as another freeper (bitt) has posted a couple of articles regarding “unmaskings”. One of (bitt’s) articles indicated 270K+ Americans were unmasked. Remember AG Sessions recusal out of thin air, only to be replaced by that worthless AG Barr?
I followed the events of 2020 closely and concluded Barr was foisted upon Trump by McConnell. It was Barr’s responsibility to open up FEDERAL investigations on the perps (and their funding sources) involved in the 70+ day attack on the federal courthouse in Portland, but he didn’t. We certainly know the DOJ has the capability to obtain geolocation data, as evidenced by the prosecutions of J6 attendees.
What happens now with a new trump administration? Will they be able to see all of the information with held purposely by the ABC agencies??? There has to be a consequence to those officials who have stonewalled the American people.
Still trying to find where, in that pesky constitution thingie, that the fed was granted to power to regulate alcohol, tobacco and firearms...
Be sure to add the BLM and EPA to that list.
