Walmart employees have voiced confusion over the tragic death of a 19-year-old staff member inside a walk-in oven because they generally 'can't close' on their own.
In a series of TikTok videos, staff and former employees have been sharing insights into the inner mechanics of working inside a Walmart bakery.
It comes on the back of Gursimran Kaur's tragic death last weekend. The 19-year-old girl became stuck inside the walk-in oven of the store she worked at in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Her own mother, who also worked at the store, found her 'charred remains' inside after more than an hour of looking for her on the shop floor, a spokesperson for the family said.
'It doesn't make any sense,' a Walmart employee named Mary said in a TikTok video showcasing the oven.
'This door does not close by itself... It doesn't latch. It's designed not to do that. You have to push it, hear the click.
Mary demonstrated stepping inside of the oven and utilizing the emergency release from the inside of the oven, showing that it is a simple push feature on the other side of the door.
'I'm not trying to theorize or form a conspiracy, it's just hard to wrap my head around it when Walmart's bakery ovens are so safe to use,' she said in a comment.
Her video has been viewed 3.6 million times and sparked an outpouring of responses from other Walmart employees across the nation, who agreed that the oven should not have been able to close easily.

This girl either committed suicide or was murdered.
Nobody slow roasts themselves alive, this was a murder.
Or, disappeared herself...
Check the DNA
Sikh - Indian war is already in Canada
I’m thinking murder.
My first thought too
Not on purpose. If there were drugs involved, however, it’s possible.
Like Big Lurch. He thought he was eating raw ground beef while on PCP, and it turned out to be someone’s insides. He killed and started eating her without realizing what he was doing.
where was dababy?
it wouldn’t be his first
“When man makes things fool proof God makes a more qualified fool.”
Here’s a theory - she was murdered..then ‘baked’ to destroy evidence. Autopsy will show actual cause of death.
Door could have been faulty. Mechanical things do become faulty sometimes.
Given she was Indian, I assumed she was raped and murdered by another Indian.
Maybe not. Security cameras would have caught it.
Who is big lurch?
Maybe someone killed her and threw her in the oven to destroy evidence.
is it possible she had a health emergency, and was unconscious?
Or wasn’t trained on the emergency release.
Daddy was still in India but Mommy was working with her in the store and was the one who found her.
Yea I’m wondering too if it was an honor killing.
Or she was in there and somebody didn’t know it. In the industrial world things like that come with some sort of pin you’re supposed to remove on your way in, with the pin out nobody can turn it on. Of course then people forget to remove the pin. Some guy in the Hershey factory got killed for not removing the pin cleaning a giant mixer, somebody turned it on not knowing he was in there, chop chop.
