Just like Aron Ralston, only she gets to keep her arm as far I know.

She was so lucky they were able to get her out.

Not like the guy who had to cut his arm off with a jack knife in Zion Park a few years back after 27 hours of agony.

Many women are stuck upside down even without reaching for their phone.

Not like the guy who had to cut his arm off with a jack knife in Zion Park a few years back after 27 hours of agony. Not that it makes any difference, but it was actually 127 hours. Sure hope he had a knife sharpener with him. I don't think I'd have the courage to cut my arm off.

I’m getting old but I should have remembered that as I read the book and watched the movie. 127 hours is unbelievable.

127 hours is unbelievable. The really unbelievable part is the self-inflicted dismemberment.
It gives me the willies so badly that I started watching the movie but quit before the part where he got stuck, since I knew what was coming after that. I couldn't even watch a make-believe version of it, much less do it.

Not only the 127 hours man, but Mike Turner who’s leg got pinned under a shifting boulder, and hasn’t found til many years later. He was able to journal for some time while stuck there and it’s very sad but inspiring his emotional journey of hope to be found, realizing he wouldn’t be, anger, acceptance, etc.

It was actually 127 hours of agony and pain for Mr. Aron Ralston, back in 2003.

"Sure hope he had a knife sharpener with him."
EPU;
Since he was in a rock canyon he was surrounded by an extensive sharpener, just not very flat or regular, and probably not a very fine grit.

John Jones died after 28 hours of being stuck upside down in the Nutty Putty Cave in 2009. Numerous efforts to extricate him failed. He had crawled into a 10” by 18” space and gotten stuck upside down, suspended by his feet. They still couldn’t get him out after he died, so his body was sealed inside the mountain.
