At a Pennsylvania Rally, Trump Descends to New Levels of Vulgarity
The New York Times ^ | Oct. 19, 2024 | Michael Gold

Former President Donald J. Trump on Saturday spewed crude and vulgar remarks at a rally in Pennsylvania that included an off-color remark about a famous golfer’s penis size and a coarse insult about Vice President Kamala Harris.

The performance, 17 days before the election in a critical battleground state, added to the impression of the Republican nominee as increasingly unfiltered and undisciplined. It comes as some of Mr. Trump’s allies and aides worry that Mr. Trump’s temperament and crass style are alienating undecided voters.

It was unclear if the outbursts and insults were an expression of his frustration as the campaign grinds on or of his reflexive desire to entertain his crowds. At her own events on Saturday, Ms. Harris called attention to Mr. Trump’s temperament and his tendency to “go off script and ramble.”

Mr. Trump opened his speech at the airport in Latrobe, Pa., with 12 minutes of reminiscing about the golfer Arnold Palmer, who grew up in the Western Pennsylvania town and for whom the airport was named.

His monologue culminated in lewd remarks about the size of Mr. Palmer’s penis. Moments later, Mr. Trump gave the crowd an opportunity to call out a profanity. He went on to use that four-letter word to describe Ms. Harris.

“Such a horrible four years,” Mr. Trump said, referring to the Biden-Harris administration, as he surveyed the crowd of hundreds of people in front of him. “We had a horrible — think of the — everything they touch turns to —.”

Many in his audience — which was mostly made up of adults but included some children, infants and teenagers — eagerly filled in the blank, shouting, “S%#t!”

Minutes later, Mr. Trump urged his supporters to vote, telling them that they had to send a crude message to Ms. Harris...

Amazing how much gaslight, Astroturf, projection, innuendo and lies NYT can manage to pack into every square inch they publish.

Who cares? Anyone who is still undecided can't be trusted to find their way to the polls.

It’s fun watching the NYT clutch its pearls and feign indignation to a few four letter words.

I always vote on a president based on his vulgarity rather than his record and what he can do for the country, Don’t you?

Now let me get this straight: it’s ok to explicitly equate one candidate to men who directly ordered the horrendous deaths of millions of people (Hitler,) or a couple of tens of millions (Stalin), and indirectly caused the deaths of maybe 100 million more. But comparing his opponent’s policies to poop is out of
Bounds? Ok. Got it

Absolutely no limit to what the communists and democrat harpies can say about him. I have seen eight years of the most of the vile insults imaginable directed at him. The real bitch to get back with you give out.

Rush Limbaugh spent most of his shows discussing content from NYT, WaPo, LAT, etc. I miss Rush's insight and get bored reading things I agree with all the time, so I post articles that Rush probably would have discussed. Lots of people are interested in them, judging from the number of comments the articles get. Precious snowflakes who claim to be too delicate to be exposed to even their titles sound like they have personal problems they should probably discuss with their therapists.

Does any of the writers turn on the TV ever?
The f-word is used on what used to be prime time and yet no body blinks an eye but the NY times thinks this is the 1950s?
I deplore the degradation of society norms but I cannot pretend for the sake of destroying one party’s candidate when the other one’s sole reason for rising in power is her position on her knees and her race to achieve it

I think the reference was innuendo. The left can’t get their head out of the gutter with anything Trump says.

New York Times worry about tea party protesters being called tea baggers. Apparently that’s a homosexual insult that I didn’t even know existed. But the Times was OK with it.

How many times has the NYT given glowing praise of truly vulgar rappers and ghetto thugs?

Too bad for the NYT that vulgarity is now de rigueur, thanks in good part to "progressives" and the NYT itself.

It's almost quaint on the part of the NYT. It's like children in the attic. They find clothes in grandpa's old trunk and play "dress up". So precious!

How many more years will the left pretend to be shocked by Trump's "temperament and crass style"?

Trump hasn't changed an iota since he's been in the public eye.
