Trump Escalates Threats to Political Opponents He Deems the ‘Enemy’
The New York Times ^ | Oct. 15, 2024, 9:46 p.m. ET | Lisa Lerer and Michael Gold

With three weeks left before Election Day, former President Donald J. Trump is pushing to the forefront of his campaign a menacing political threat: that he would use the power of the presidency to crush those who disagree with him.

In an interview on Sunday, Mr. Trump framed Democrats as a pernicious “enemy from within” that would cause chaos on Election Day that he speculated the National Guard might need to handle.

A day later, he closed his remarks to a crowd at what was billed as a town hall in Pennsylvania with a stark message about his political opponents.

“They are so bad and frankly, they’re evil,” Mr. Trump said. “They’re evil. What they’ve done, they’ve weaponized, they’ve weaponized our elections. They’ve done things that nobody thought was even possible.”

And on Tuesday, he once again refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power when pressed by an interviewer at an economic forum in Chicago.

With early voting underway in key battlegrounds, the race for the White House is moving toward Election Day in an extraordinary and sobering fashion. Mr. Trump has long flirted with, if not openly endorsed, anti-democratic tendencies with his continued refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election, embrace of conspiracy theories of large-scale voter fraud and accusations that the justice system is being weaponized against him. He has praised leaders including President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary for being authoritarian strongmen.

But never before has a presidential nominee — let alone a former president — openly suggested turning the military on American citizens simply because they oppose his candidacy. As he escalates his threats of political retribution, Mr. Trump is offering voters the choice of a very different, and far less...

The past four years have been an escalation of threats against Trump and his allies by the Democrats. Not just an escalation of threats, but actual prosecutions and follow through on ruining their lives.

Friends and relatives who are voting for kamaLa say to me, How could you vote for Trump? He'll be a fascist dictator, take away our freedoms, and destroy our country!

I respond to them that actually, the guy who funds the Democrats, George Soros, has for many decades supported communist/fascist/socialist Democrat candidates, DAs, AGs, and judges. I've even mentioned that fact on this forum and a couple of knowledgeable Republicans interjected that, no, Soros is not a communist/fascist/socialist, he's actually for an "Open Society," or one central global government (no more borders, thus no more countries). And technically, yes, that's what Soros has said for decades ... but ... Soros also said over two decades ago that the one and only remaining stumbling block preventing his Grand Vision of one central global government (Open Society) is the United States of America.

So frankly, I don't think Soros cares what kinds of Democrat politicians help to destroy the fabric of the U.S., it could be a communist Democrat politician, or fascist Democrat or socialist Democrat. Soros just wants to get ALL of those extremist Democrats in power, to decimate our democratic republic. As soon as Soros's "Open Society" organization (in existence over 30 years) has dismantled the United States, he can then proceed to push the remaining cinders of Amerika into his single central global government regime (or "Open Society"). No borders, no countries, and as the great John Lennon sang, "Imagine all the people, Sharing all the world ... And the world can live as one." (Kumbaya)

The New York Times says this like it’s a BAD thing. Most of us just hope it’s true.

this is a bad idea to telegraph your punch. THis is ego and part of the reason I’m uneasy with him back in office. Now before folks explode, we have no other choice but to elect him. I will not hesitate to vote for DJT

So picture, say, 10-15 years in the future, and the U.S. has basically been hollowed out by Soros (and his "Open Society" successors and their Democrat politician puppets). By then, Soros has presumably done the same to most of Europe and many other countries. Soros (or more accurately, his successors) would have a coalition of the (former) United States of Amerika & most/all of Europe in one single nation-state. He presumes he'll continue scooping up nation after nation, until presumably it's just Soros's "Open Society" nation-state, in addition to Russia, China, and India. Soros also theoretically plans how he'll then deconstruct those three nations as well in the future. Soros figures Putin and Xi will be gone by then. Soros's "Open Society" utopic dream lives on!

If you think I'm totally making up all this stuff, just search for soros open society. I think his "Open Society" organization has existed for almost 40 years. And its headquarters is in New York City. The previous President of Hungary (a new President was recently elected) said Soros is not welcome back to Soros's home country of Hungary. Soros tried to interfere in Hungary and the former President of Hungary said, No way, get out Soros and go back to your adopted home in the United States where you can continue undermining the U.S., but you're not going to do that here in Hungary. (Soros would likely be instantly arrested in Hungary if he ever returned there.)

If you browse through the timeline listed on Soros's "Open Society" website (based in New York), you'll see that the one and only country that Soros specifically singles out as being a "Threat" to his Open Society (and a threat to various other causes that Soros espouses) is the "United States."

Nope, not just for the sake of chaos. The constant "chaos" that Soros fosters -- e.g., the DNC-directed violent Black Lives Matter/Antifa wild thug mob nationwide rioting throughout the 2020 Election year -- is only the means to an end. And that ultimate end (or goal) is Soros's utopic vision of one central global government ("Open Society"). No borders, thus no countries. One global government.

Everything that Soros pushes in all the countries in which his organization operates is to destabilize nations, with the ultimate goal of persuading those destabilized nations that the best solution to avoid future destabilization is to all join together in one central global government (which will finally be stable). It's basically John Lennon's dream in his song, "Imagine" ... but not quite. Something along those lines. No borders, no religion, no possessions, no heaven, no countries. Just one global utopic "Open Society." Soros and his followers are miserable people and they want the rest of the world to be as miserable as they are. So Vote for Soros's choice, kamaLa!

Good! This current corrupt regime has been so fascist, that I want to give them a whole lot of FASCIST right back at them!

Let *THEM* feel what they've been giving out for four years, and maybe they will grasp why it's a *BAD* idea to use the government to prosecute political enemies.

But they aren't getting out of this without getting the same treatment.

They need to get burned very badly so they never forget this lesson.

They see Harris crashing and they’re panicking.

They should. If Trump does what he should, a hellofalot of them are heading to prison.

Milley needs to be sent to prison. Strozk, Pelosi, Page, the Vindmans, Garland, and a whole lot of other people need to go to prison for their illegal activities in the last 8 years.

They need to be scared to death and working to flee the country, because the nation very badly needs these people to be made examples of.

That's not Trump's job. That is the responsibility of the majority who elect him.
