What's worse for Steanski is that someday he could be fired for playing QB he knew hurt the team. The owner probably won't give him a pass on the losses. And he's been Coach of the Year twice.
It’s too easy for a guy like that to quit. Money is guaranteed. Why should he bother to go out and prove he’s worth it when he doesn’t have to? Think Al Davis. $31 million to Jamarcus Russell. If he could play he had no real need to prove it
This story makes me have a question for you. Have you ever been forced to say something by your boss/es that you knew was stupid, but you had to publicly say it anyway?
Were his eyes blinking “T-O-R-T-U-R-E” in morse code?
I once got accused of sending out a payment to a vendor-—when there were not funds to cover it....on a Friday
When vendor called ON MONDAY 11 AM, boss/owner blamed me for sending it out when he said not to.
HE ACTUALLY had ordered me to send it-—despite my argument.
As he was trying to smooth talk the vendor, I interrupted the conversation & told the vendor what really had happened-—I HAPPENED TO ACTUALLY KNOW THE GUY WHO WAS CALLING....
AS I hung up & was gathering my personal items off the desk & writing a paycheck for PRIOR WEEK & 3 hours of that day, I could hear all the nonsense he was trying to shove over onto me.
When he came into my office, he was livid.
I SAID : SIGN these-—the 2 checks.
WHY? BECAUSE I AM DONE—I AM LEAVING.
YOU CAN’T!!
WANNA BET???
I took all my personal items-—went directly to bank & cashed checks. NEVER WORKED FOR THE GUY EVER AGAIN-—I HE HAD BEGGED ME FOR MONTHS TO COME WORK FOR HIM BECAUSE PRIOR LADY WISHED TO RETIRE.
LAST time I had a job that was from only one source.
I went self-employed & NEVER looked back. That was 1980.
It gives them the best chance to win a first round pick :)
He probably is their best bet. Not because he’s any good mind, just cause their backups are so bad. The Watson deal was stupid, everybody not a part of the Brown’s organization knew that when it got announced. So here they are.
But the present Browns iteration at the Mistake-By-The-Lake is lamentable.
I’ve followed “the mistake on the lake” my whole life. Trade 5 years of no. 1 draft picks for a sex offender who can’t play. Get rid of Mayfield( who is now leading Tampa Bay into playoffs!) and Joe Flacco ( who set Browns passing records last season). As long as a Haslam is involved this team will go nowhere! At least they made the Herschel Walker trade the 2nd worst in NFL history!
Nick Chubb...
Deshaun got big contract...no need to play hard....OL probably wants to see him get hurt...the way they block for him...
Stefanski is toast....McCarthy is toast,,, McVay is toast...Tomlin had enough time...
Browns just need to get all members of the team to execute their individual jobs...this is on the coaches...and management..and some of the players.....to be honest...but who really WGAS?...
If Watson is the Browns’ best chance to win, they have no chance to win.
Oh, he will uncork one amazing game or even two, but you will not get week to week consistency from him. Sad, because he had so much potential.
