I hike 13 miles a day for my profession. I encounter every kind of human known to existence. Interaction with people is a fact of reality, every minute of every day.
I am thinking about wearing a body cam.
My best girl says I could be you tube famous based on some of the stories I relate to her.
Cat 5 lives matter right now.
You think paparazzi get releases from every famous person they snap? Do Paparazzi get paid? Yes
If you would be wearing the body cam while on the job, you should probably get your boss and management to agree to your proposal in writing before you start doing it.
Making a first-class YouTube vid requires a LOT of post-production work and editing, especially if your body cam is going to be on all day long. Stream of consciousness narration is generally awful, so you’d have to spend some time thinking and planning about your narration. Don’t underestimate the hours required to get to a good quality YT video that people will want to watch.
One last thing — either skip the music entirely or choose something pleasing, keep the music volume down, and don’t play it continuously. Bring it in for a bit then fade out as appropriate. I’ve turned off so many vids that appeared promising at first but had high volume “music” that made me want to shove icepicks into my eardrums.
So?
What if I have routinely been cursed, threatened, held up and bit over 20 times.
So? And having a body cam is some sort of magic device that will prevent these things from happening?
What if I considered it to be part of providing me a safe workplace.
I would have suggested that perhaps you should have brought this up before? Doing so NOW when you have apparently decided that your goal in life is to be a YouTube Sensation is a bit on the fishy side.
And it will not keep you safe. It will just provide information of how you managed to die.
What if I filed a grievance?
So?
And made the government pay for it all?
And that makes you a typical government bureaucrat which is something most people on this forum consider slightly below slime mold.
If you want to wear a body cam outside of work, your business. If you want to wear a body cam as part of your official duties for the government you will NOT be posting on YouTube. If your department head decided that something you have recorded while on government time needs to be publicly available they will publish it themselves but odds are outside of a FOIA request it will never show up.
And if you get a official body camera I would warn you that everything you say and do is now part of the official record and can be used against you.
Also turning off that camera is regarded as, at the very least, suspicious and untrustworthy behavior by juries.
But you will do as you like.
Have fun.
Depends on what YouTube would allow you to post. They censor and demonetize people when they like.
You should check the law in your state regarding recording audio. In some situations a video recording is legal, but recording audio is not.
Newmen?
Why do you hike 13 miles day?
Uphill, into the wind, both directions?
My guess is you’re a mail carrier.
It’s not about privacy. It’s about someone using your image to make money. We are not talking about someone doing street photography for the local paper. In that case you are correct. But to specifically use the image/video to post to a commercial site with the intent to monetize it…that is something I would clear with a lawyer first.
Nah, he works for Amazon or a similar delivery service. The postal service wouldn’t not allow this because he works, ultimately, for the government. Imagine the outrage around here when they learn “the Feds” are recording you in your day to day life!
If he was a postman it would be more like 1-2 miles.
Bit twenty times? What the heck do you do?
A moose once bit my sister.
Why so coy about your job?
Bit t t t two t t two t t t t twenty times.
If you don’t and a UFO lands nearby you’ll kick yourself
“ Mosquitos? Rattlesnakes? Moose? Girlfriends?”
A moose once bit my sister.
And thats your BEST girl?
Id have pushed her out of bed around 12 bites.
