Donald Trump has had as many as seven private phone calls with Vladimir Putin since leaving office and secretly sent the Russian president COVID-19 test machines during the height of the pandemic, Bob Woodward reported in his new book “War.”
In the famed Watergate reporter’s latest book, Woodward reports that Trump asked an aide to leave his office at his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, so that the former president could have a private call with Putin in early 2024. The aide, whom Woodward doesn’t name, said there have been multiple calls between Trump and Putin since Trump left office, perhaps as many as seven in that period, according to the book.
Woodward also reports that Trump sent Putin COVID-19 test machines for his personal use as the virus began spreading in 2020. Putin told Trump not to tell anyone because people would be mad at Trump over it, but Trump said he didn’t care if anyone knew, according to the book. Trump ended up agreeing not to tell anyone.
Steven Cheung, Trump’s communications director, derided the reporting as “made up stories” and said the book is a work of fiction that could double as toilet paper.
“None of these made up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Cheung said in a statement.
He added: “President Trump gave him absolutely no access for this trash book that either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue. Woodward is a total sleazebag who has lost it mentally, and he’s slow, lethargic, incompetent and overall a boring person with no personality.”

My reaction too.
I’m glad to hear that Trump and Putin have some kind of relationship, even one this inconsequential. Old saying is true: “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” an idea that went right over Woodward’s demented head.
Impeach him.

I was speaking to the general statement that Nixon did nothing illegal.
He said a lot of negatives about Biden too and Harris. I’d like all this to be true. Trumps stories are big whoop. But the Biden-Harris stories might turn off voters.
Except he didn’t take care of Americans first. It’s like giving illegals FEMA money, it might be a feel good measure, but it’s not putting Americans first.
I never heard we ran out of money to take care of Americans. I would think giving to Putin would count as foreign aid. For which there MUST be a slush fund.
You take care of a potential enemy and you get a potential friend. Personally, I’m in favor of Putin so protecting him is a good thing in my book.
And besides, Trump can do NO WRONG in my book, as well. Well, he can, of course, but I’ll forgive him anything so that’s similar.
No, FEMA giving money to illegals does NOT feel good. It feels rotten because it’s HURTING Americans who could use the money. What Trump does is a protection for Americans. All the difference. When we stop wasting money in government, I’ll start worrying about nickels and dimes.

Woodward is ruled by his hatred of Republicans in general and Trump in particular. He never holds democrats to the same standard or to much of any standard. Woodward should try it once in his life and see how fast his elite ‘friends’ turn on him. Just might red pill the idiot.

BTW he was a Naval intel officer just before joining the Washington Post to take down Richard Nixon. At the direction of the CIA or FBI or other deep state intel agency.

I’m still trying to figure out how Putin rigged the 2016 election for Trum, but Democrat party aparratchiks didn’t do anything illegal in 2020 and 2022.
