EVs Still So Unpopular that Car Thieves Won’t Even Steal Them
Cybercast News Service ^ | September 27, 2024 | Craig Bannister

Despite government subsidies, mandates and promotion, demand for electric vehicles (EVs) is still so low that car thieves don’t think they’re worth stealing — but, if they are stolen, they’ll cost more to replace than traditional, gas-powered vehicles.

While the Biden-Harris Administration provides tax credits to people who buy electric vehicles, there are no such incentives for those who might steal them. A record number of vehicles were stolen in the U.S., but electric vehicles were far less likely to be stolen, a Highway Loss Data Institute analysis of insured vehicles model years 2021-23 finds.

Four of the six vehicles with the lowest frequencies of theft are electric, with Tesla models accounting for half of those, according to the study. In fact, all three of the vehicles with the lowest odds of being stolen were Teslas, with one model rating the safest from theft — by far:

“The Tesla Model 3 electric four-door 4WD, a midsize luxury car, had the lowest whole vehicle theft claim frequency at just 1% of the all-passenger-vehicle average.” …

You missed my main point

Your main point drowned in an inundation of pure stupidity.
Only an idiot believes any system is un-hackable.

I truly wished Bobby would become smarter before Bobbyvotes.

Bye!

Doesn’t matter what I think, its the law of the land and more so it’s been implemented since 2000s in most vehicles that are not archaic. Neither party is going to change the mandate it makes sense from a pursuit stand point. I regularly watch on patrol live and all the chases are older vehicles why? Because newer ones don’t make the cut for TV since they just send the kill command and putt putt putt no chase. Do you honestly believe you or anyone else can stop the government if they really wanted to keep you or anyone else immobile. Get real they would come down with the full weight of the machine if that’s what they wanted some little kill command is the least of you worries if fedzilla decides to put you in its sights. No fly list, licence suspended , BOLO with face recognition and plate scanners too. Frozen bank accounts, tracking of cellphones. The list is already endless of how they could slam down in someone. It’s just how it is. Done get all butthurt because some people recognize that fact. Best to just stay off the radar don’t give them a reason. I guess have an exit plan and offshore assets if really worried about it. Again a software kill switch is so far down the list of crap to worry about of they come after you its laughable at that point.

You seem to be arguing my point.

It was “Bobbyvotes” who said his bank accounts and vehicles are “unhackable.”

“Both cars are used mostly for daily commutes to jobs and shopping. I think that is a good fit for EV’s.”

Same with a gas engine car, great for any task. How is an EV better in any way?? It is not.

“I have a model 3 because I can fuel it indefinitely off my panels and no one only God himself can stop that. “

Except you forget the bigger picture. If all gas cars are going nowhere, then where are you going? Also, if you are mobile and no one else is, you won’t be keeping that car for long as thugs take it from you.

EV riding golf cart (lead acid battery powered) is so much better than a gas powered riding golf cart.
1. EV is 10 times more quieter
2. No fumes to inhale while riding cart
3. No tune-ups needed ever
4. No need to buy gasoline and carry it to golf course
5. Never fails to start (assuming batteries were charged while cart is parked in cart barn after finishing round of golf)

Only thing better with gas powered golf cart is, it has more power to climb steep hills.

Reminds me of the story of a kid so ugly the dog wouldn’t even play with him unless he was wearing a porkchop necklace!

Probably not.

I’d steal the one that I could part out for the most money.
