Your kidneys are some of the most important organs in your body. Not only do they remove waste and excess fluid from your blood, but they maintain the levels of potassium, sodium and other essential minerals that your body needs to survive. The kidneys also create hormones that regulate important health factors like blood pressure and bone strength. But despite all that, they still remain underappreciated compared to organs like the heart or lungs.
The kidneys do a lot, so they can become overworked without your notice. Roughly one in seven American adults has chronic kidney disease, which can cause waste and fluid buildup in your body.

Or take losartan.
What about beef liver? I like it pan fried once or twice a month. I have given up looking for a restaurant to cook and serve it for me, with rice and gravy, of course. Maybe a crescent roll or two with Apple Butter, for good luck. Not much call for this special Working Class skill, I suppose.
Yes, foods can ameliorate deficiencies, obviously.
I’ve never heard the word arugula and not thought of Obama in a photo sniffing some and smiling.
Obama’s Down on the Farm
Jul 27, 2007 — “Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?
Yep, beef liver. Once a week. I get a major energy boost from it and it's the ONLY thing I will go near a stove to prepare. There's no way I'd trust anyone else to do it, much less pay at a restaurant.
You have to stand there and watch it, make sure it isn't overdone; there are only a few seconds of leeway before it's overdone.
I totally hate cooking. I'll slap a salad together, and any veggie that needs cooking gets steamed in the microwave. Fresh food is better anyway.
What really matters is chocolate, a good pizza and a decent cup of coffee. (Not all at once.)
“Criminal lemons”. Is that a thing?
An Argentinian punk band.
A lot of experience in the field.
Of course, if you were starving, then anything you eat will make you healthier.
But, for example, if your cholesterol is high, you can’t eat something to make your cholesterol lower. Similarly, you can’t eat something to make your blood pressure lower. And you can’t eat something to make your kidneys healthier.
But there are plenty of things you can avoid eating and doing that will correct those deficiencies.
Liz Lemon fro-yo was pretty good, when they were closing it out at the local canned food warehouse. Lemon with blueberry swirls. Apparently it kinda bombed for Ben and Jerry.
Nonsense. Cholesterol? HaHaHa....
All of these foods, with the exception of fatty fish (I just can’t eat fish.) are my general daily foods.
If you despise arugula as much as I hate cauliflower, you’re being far too polite to it.
I like all of those things, but don’t eat much arugula.
“I refuse to eat eggwhites without egg yolks.”
Ditto. Otherwise, what’s the point?
“What about beef liver?”
I like it fried with bacon and onions. DH and doesn’t like it so we never have it.
I also like chicken livers, but don’t know if they have the same food value as the beef. A restaurant we used to go to in CA served Linguine Alla Caruso, and it was delicious.
“Anyone who thinks egg yolk is dangerous is too dumb to consider.”
Amen & Hallelujah!
Nonsense. It is a proven fact raw garlic lowers blood pressure.
oh great- all thew things that either give you gas or the runs or both at the same time
Fad diet of the week. Big whoop!
