The Democrats' War on Western North Carolina
American Thinker ^ | 5 Oct, 2024 | Don Brown

Democrats' dilatory behavior could be viewed as a bid to create a political advantage and may even win them the crucial swing state in November.

SNIP

More than a week after Hurricane Helene’s devastating strike, the Biden administration continues boasting of its so-called response with press releases and empty rhetoric, while millions of North Carolinians remain stranded — homeless, powerless, and without access to necessities like food and water.

Tonight, I received a heart-wrenching text from a friend in Haywood County: “The government is worthless that we have right now. If I could say one good thing, I would. God help us get them out!”

This raises the critical question of politics. North Carolina, often labeled a swing state, has historically leaned red. In the last fourteen presidential elections, Republicans have won twelve times, carried by the deep-red western counties — twenty-one of the twenty-five counties have voted Republican in every election since 1968. These counties are, by far, the reddest region of the state.

But here is the alarming reality: if the voting power of these counties, now suffering in Helene's aftermath, is diminished or neutralized, North Carolina could swing blue. The stakes have never been higher.

At least in theory, Joe Biden is the commander-in-chief of the United States military, with the full might of the armed forces at his disposal to protect Americans in times of crisis. Kamala Harris is supposed to be his trusted number two, whispering in his ear in times of crisis in the White House Situation Room.

Yet, when Hurricane Helene devastated western North Carolina, where were Biden and Harris?

I just want to know what this BS government will do when cholera or typhus break out there! 👿 Because that’s what you get with unburied bodies, stagnant water and raw sewage sitting around.

Watch for it.

TIA ( Trump in Action).

He will organize a wholesale rescue and relief of Western North Carolina with the help of Musk and others. It is already happening, very quietly between proxies and the Governor.

GAO report critical of FEMA's handling of pandemic

..."As of March 2024, FEMA had committed to spend $125.3 billion from the fund for COVID-19–related assistance like vaccinations, testing sites, and more—and had spent $103.6 billion of it," the GAO wrote. New York, Texas, and California had been given at least $15 billion each, the report states...

FEMA is just a bleeping big slush fund for Deep State to use to reward its minions and cronies.

FEMA isn’t a joke, not to taxpayers.

FEMA has become a Deep State slush fund.

In NC: TOO. MANY. CHRISTIANS. True Christians don’t vote RAT.

Shoot, one of the most devastated areas is Boone, homestead of Billy Graham, and home to most of his family and Billy Graham Ministries.

“The government is worthless that we have right now. If I could say one good thing, I would. God help us get them out!”

How many times does history have to repeat itself before people realize the government will not save you in an emergency. They will not help rebuild you house.

Expect in a crisis you will be abandoned and on your own and plan accordingly. That's the only way you won't be disappointed.

Asheville, the hardest hit town is known for being the "Portland of the East".

Boone is the location of Appalachian State University.

So this article is sort of misleading.

It's going to be a problem to turn out voters for the Democratic Party in NC.

Did you know the NC governor is a Democrat? He is also in his last days as governor since he is termed out. Do you really think he is gonna help Trump & Musk to do anything for the hurricane victims? I don’t. It’s truly criminal what the democrats seem to be doing to slow walk help for these poor people.

I'm not seeing much of a federal response. It's mostly local/state and private response at this point.
