Vanity: Where to buy large quantities of medication
Self

Posted on 10/01/2024 5:37:20 AM PDT by far sider

Does anyone know where a person can purchase large quantities of medications? Following thyroid cancer treatment 10 years ago I need synthroid and I would like to be able to have more than a monthly refill. Thanks.

Awareness Ping - Prescriptions necessary but perhaps outdated ?

Where do you go for medication information ?
Maybe you need a refill on your prescriptive medication and forgot to re-order ?
Let's say you need a certain medication, but you happen to have some older prescriptive medications that you forgot about,
or they were in the back of the medicine cabinet behind the malox ?
Are they still good, and effective ?

“If you can find out the animal equivalent, it can often be ordered online or out of a catalog”

The vet supply availability ended over the last few months (in the U.S.). The FDA threatened them with legal action and now even the legit livestock owners need Rx from a vet. So no more easy to get amoxicillin, etc.

Do you happen to know if that particular tablet is easily splittable? (Would be 2 years supply of 75 mcg for me).

4 notches on the plunger for me.

Took it prophylactically a few times, and when I finally actually got Covid in early 2022.

Useful Ivermectin links, lots of them:

Sad to hear. My Dad passed in 1993. He used to tell me that he volunteered to fight the $#*% nazis in World War II and our government is becoming too much like them now.

No problem. I didnt need anything to purchase ivermectin as far as a script. Just said I wanted it. Its out of India, phone support is great. They will need a credit card. The prescription laws are different all over. Most of the Eastern Hemisphere would look at you strange for thinking you need a script for it because its purchased like aspirin. And they just sent me a birthday email.

While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I’m doing very little clinical medicine these days since being diagnosed with medication-induced sensorimotor neuropathy (malaria meds I took in ‘92 - ‘93, working online supervision of physician assistants mostly.

Look around, there are many docs working from home/online these days.

Good luck.

I’m a few months away from moving from MD to TN (I hope) myself. I just hope you didn’t find yourself in Austin, San Antonio or Houston… (liberals and their policies have pretty much destroyed those places)

We landed north of Houston, just far enough to avoid the madness. A bit like Maryland. In the right spot, you don’t have daily reminders of the lunacy surrounding you. I kept a sailboat in Deale, south of Annapolis, for years when I worked in DC. Being there was very peaceful.

Good luck in Tennessee, hopefully outside their big cities. The eastern side just got some tragic rain.

Thanks for your reply. I have wondered about how long thyroid meds stayed in my system. That is helpful.

Of course my concern is that there would be a collapse that would cause a long term disruption of the levothyroxine supply chain. I would like to have a multi year stash, so I will check into the Indian supplier that daydreamer and others suggested.

I had stage four thyroid cancer (papillary) in 2013. After surgery and external radiation at Univ of KY, I am on 137 mcg of synthroid daily. My old specialist retired and I started at Ohio State medical center this year. My new doctor changed my dosage to 137 mcg per day plus an extra half dose on Sundays based on my thyroglobulin level.

Thanks for the info about Armor thyroid. And no I wouldn't be interested in "vegan thyroid". (LOL)
