Opinion: Former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster adds to UFO speculation
The Hill/MSN.com ^ | marik von rennenkampff

Former National Security Advisor and retired Army Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster became the latest official to make eyebrow-raising comments about UFOs, now formally rebranded as “unidentified anomalous phenomena” or UAP.

Asked about UAP during a Sept. 6 appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” McMaster stated that “there are phenomena that have been witnessed by multiple people that are just inexplicable by any kind of science available to us.”

...

Over a decade after they were first formally reported, naval aviators’ daily observations of UAP exhibiting amazing flight characteristics off the East Coast remain officially unexplained.

John Ratcliffe, director of national intelligence under former President Trump, injected fascinating context into recent military encounters with the UFO phenomenon. In a 2021 interview, Ratcliffe stated that UAP “have been picked up by satellite imagery [and] frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain, movements that are hard to replicate, that we don’t have the technology for.”

U.S. intelligence analysts, Ratcliffe continued, have “high confidence” that foreign adversaries such as China or Russia were not behind one of the most extraordinary, best-documented UAP incidents.

Alarmingly, Ratcliffe stated that UAP exhibit “technologies that we don’t have and, frankly, that we are not capable of defending against.”

As a Christian I can never believe in UFOs.

The Holy Bible would have some mention of possibility of human-type life on other planets.

Hey Rooster—it looks like we have more House and Senate public hearings ahead.

While you and I like to debate philosophical issues here on planet Earth we are going to see street brawls on this topic.

I saw a Chris Mellon interview recently where he discussed an interesting “alternate history”. He said imagine what would have happened if Khrushchev decided not to brag about Sputnik in 1957 and instead decided to keep it a secret.

In that case it is entirely possible, maybe even probable, that the US defense and intelligence folks would have decided to keep it secret as well.

That secrecy would have crippled the development of our space program because of intense compartmentalization in the name of national security.

My view differs from his—I would argue that the result would have been a Breakaway Civilization that studied this topic “off the books”—which as you know is my current view as well.

Nonetheless Chris did identify an interesting thought experiment.

That’s funny. The bible also does not mention or say anything about atoms, ,molecules or the periodic table or the planets in our solar system yet we know they exist. Shall we believe that they don’t exist because they are not mentioned?

Imagine if the Bible listed every star in the universe with a table indicating how many planets each star had, whether or not each planet was inhabited by intelligent life, and a discussion of the physical appearance and culture of all of those species.

They would have needed a big book for that.

Lol.

https://www.space.com/26078-how-many-stars-are-there.html

This article says there are 10 to the 24th power of stars in the universe.

If we had one page discussing each star one copy of the book would probably reach from here to Mars.

:-)

The Bible doesn't even tell us everything Jesus did during the years of his ministry. Why would we conclude that it would tell us if there were "beings" on other planets or star systems?
John 21:24
This is the disciple [i.e., John, speaking of himself in the 3rd person] who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.
John 21:25
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
By the way, most people have come to think that the beings we are dealing with are "interdimensional."

What does the Bible say about "interdimensional beings"?

Read the Book of Revelation. There are vast worlds out there of spiritual beings (whatever is meant by that). And there were spiritual beings thrown out of heaven and down to Earth.

A science fiction author (perhaps Larry Niven) said at some point, technology is functionally the same as magic.

"As a Christian I can never believe in UFOs."

Chief inquisitor Father Vincenzo Maculani, is that you?

Please show me the verse in the Bible that says humans are alone in the vast universe.

Like the fact that this show was popular at one point.

As a Christian, I definitely believe in UFOs, except they are not UFOs. They are fallen angels, masquerading as beings from other galaxies, and their goal is deception. Unfortunately, they have largely succeeded.
