Senator JD Vance, the running mate of former President Donald J. Trump, has declined to denounce the right-wing talk-show host Tucker Carlson for praising and airing the views of a Holocaust revisionist who falsely claimed that the Nazis’ destruction of European Jewry was not an intentional act of premeditated genocide.
Mr. Vance is scheduled to appear onstage Sept. 21 with Mr. Carlson in Hershey, Pa. Mr. Carlson no stranger to controversy, but his recent interview with Darryl Cooper, whom he described as “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States,” has faced particularly fierce blowback.
The Nazis’ “final solution” for the Jewish population of Europe was meticulously planned, documented and pursued even after the tide of World War II had turned and Germany’s defeat was assured. Yet Mr. Cooper, in an interview with Mr. Carlson shared on the social media site X earlier this week, falsely claimed the Holocaust was an accident of history, perpetrated by a German military overwhelmed with prisoners of war.
After the German army swept through Eastern Europe, he said, “they went in with no plan for that and they just threw these people into camps. And millions of people ended up dead there.”
Mr. Cooper went on to say that Winston Churchill, the British prime minister, “was the chief villain of the Second World War” for declaring war on Germany after the Nazis invaded Poland.
In a statement to The Jewish Insider, a Vance campaign spokesman wrote, “Senator Vance doesn’t believe in guilt-by-association cancel culture but he obviously does not share the views of the guest interviewed by Tucker Carlson. There are no stronger supporters of our allies in Israel or the Jewish community in America than Senator Vance and President Trump.”

Because he is paid by bosses that believe they must destroy anyone associated with President Trump, or especially those who might work for him in the future.
It's probably been 2 weeks since I first saw mention of Carlson having a possible position in the Trump Administration.
Didn't take long for them to target Carlson.
Yeah, we have. He spent an hour and 40 minutes interviewing the guy and he most certainly did NOT say the holocaust was an accident, didn’t happen, or that Hitler wasn’t so bad.
This entire kerfuffle is a flat out lie.
Why they actually hate this historian is that he spent most of the interview saying the ruling class of the UK and EU despise their own people, and are replacing them. That the UK, Germany, France etc are losing the only place in the world dedicated to their thousand year old cultures, and they must fight their way out of this now, or it is unrecoverable.
He was solidly justifying the UK “riots” as legitimate self defense.
People who haven’t heard the interview need to before they explain it to us.
Hear that American Jews? Ignore the “river to the sea” chants and Jewish professors and students being subject to violence and threats. Pay attention to an interview conducted by Tucker Carlson as the real threat.

I assume this is because our (ie. US run) entire present global financial, security, and political order sprung from WWII, and depends on maintaining this simplistic mythology.
And not because our socially-accepted history is all a pack of lies, either. Its is not. Rather, it is just that it has been over-simplified, with any sordid details that do not show favorably on this story having been removed.
One thing is for undeniably certain - Churchill, and especially those closest to him from his class and generation, took the UK from dominant global empire in 1914, to bankruptcy and also-ran status in a short span of 30-35 years.
A truly wise leader would have avoided such a fate. A stupid one is destroyed by it. An average one just survives it.
Cooper pointed out communism was the most lethal ideology of the 20th century. And he said the nazis managed to be more horrifying in a way by making it a carefully organized and coordinated mass murder assembly line.
Then he spoke long about the modern leaders of the UK and EU and how they despise their own people and culture and most be stopped.
And how many times have the New York Times asked dims to denounce someone from their side? Never?
I think Tucker Carlson is pretty much irrelevant when it comes to impacting undecided and swing state voters.
I think Vance is pretty much irrelevant as well.
Tucker and Vance are just providing click bait for their fan boys who are solidly in the Trump camp.
I’m interested in the box Joe Rogan seems to be in.
He gave a non-endorsement endorsement of RFK Jr. before Kennedy jumped aboard the Trump train.
I’m no fan of Rogan but he has an audience comprised of a lot of 2016 Biden voters who could be moved this time around to vote for Trump.
I don’t think he can endorse Komrade Kammy which is why he made the non-endorsement endorsement of RFK Jr.
But as tough as he may want to portray himself, I doubt if he has the balls to endorse Trump.

Cooper (nor any other sane person) doesn’t believe that the narrative of WW2 is a “pack of lies”. Rather, that there are pieces and parts which should be interpreted differently than how they have been. Unfortunately, this is not allowed for this one particular war.
We must believe that Hitler’s treatment of the Jews was UNIQUELY evil while the millions killed by Stalin or Mao was just “common evil”. Any other view is apostasy to the new world order.

I’m not discounting the rest of what you are saying but I think tribalism is more of the motivation than ideology but they are certainly both extremely relevant.
