Senator JD Vance, the running mate of former President Donald J. Trump, has declined to denounce the right-wing talk-show host Tucker Carlson for praising and airing the views of a Holocaust revisionist who falsely claimed that the Nazis’ destruction of European Jewry was not an intentional act of premeditated genocide.
Mr. Vance is scheduled to appear onstage Sept. 21 with Mr. Carlson in Hershey, Pa. Mr. Carlson no stranger to controversy, but his recent interview with Darryl Cooper, whom he described as “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States,” has faced particularly fierce blowback.
The Nazis’ “final solution” for the Jewish population of Europe was meticulously planned, documented and pursued even after the tide of World War II had turned and Germany’s defeat was assured. Yet Mr. Cooper, in an interview with Mr. Carlson shared on the social media site X earlier this week, falsely claimed the Holocaust was an accident of history, perpetrated by a German military overwhelmed with prisoners of war.
After the German army swept through Eastern Europe, he said, “they went in with no plan for that and they just threw these people into camps. And millions of people ended up dead there.”
Mr. Cooper went on to say that Winston Churchill, the British prime minister, “was the chief villain of the Second World War” for declaring war on Germany after the Nazis invaded Poland.
In a statement to The Jewish Insider, a Vance campaign spokesman wrote, “Senator Vance doesn’t believe in guilt-by-association cancel culture but he obviously does not share the views of the guest interviewed by Tucker Carlson. There are no stronger supporters of our allies in Israel or the Jewish community in America than Senator Vance and President Trump.”

They don't even try to pretend they aren't anymore.
I wasn’t going to bother, but if NY Times hates it and wants to make an issue of it, now I must listen to the interview for myself.
we havent heard from Tucker on this
New York Times = shit
Carlson’s just doing his job, interviewing. If we detest those he interviews, we have the option to not watch.
So what? The guest was no "historian". From the start of the interview it was obvious that this is was some rando youtube guy.
When anyone steps up to the plate, if you are batting 300 then you are doing a pretty good job. This was one of those times Tucker struck out. It happens. But Tucker provides a lot of gems too; we are better off having Tucker around.
NYTimes has interviewed every dictator including Stalin. They forget they have archives

The Squad's constant coddling of jihadists and advocating genocide is still okay with the New York Slimes.
“…they just threw these people into camps. And millions of people ended up dead there.”
And camps require planning, construction and staffing. That negates the “it just happened” theory.
And 50 deep-state high mucky mucks perpetrated an outrageous hoax on the American people, concocting a false narrative that Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation. When will the New York Times denounce those people and all who associate with them?
The NYT are the original holocaust deniers and nazi supporters.
NYT grasping for straws, but they have willing allies in everyone who thinks “guilt by association” is legit.
Didn’t the NYT deny the Holocaust when it was taking place?
I truly have no idea why Mr. Weisman is saying this.
Let's go back to talking about Russia's influence over American news and media.
Exactly!
wrong…Cooper is knowledgeable and I enjoyed listening to him. This was NOT a bad interview by Tucker. Any revision to any aspect of WW2 is met with fierce opposition…but I don’t care as I like Cooper even when I disagree with him.
Please do and then you will realize that this backlash is exactly the point Cooper was trying to make.
We have built the entire post-WW2 geo-political order on the mythology of Hitler being the scape goat for every evil thing that has existed in modern times. It has become a religion upon which all of our actions must be measured.
If a country cares about it’s citizens...They must be Nazis.
If a leader supports Nationalist, populist, protectionist policies...he is literally Hitler.
EVERYTHING must be viewed through this lens and the only acceptable direction is towards progressivism and globalism.
To even question any of the WW2 narratives is sacrilegious and must be deal with swiftly.
For some reason it is socially acceptable to have a myriad of differing opinions on WW1, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, etc... but to question one word of the WW2 mythology is grounds for an immediate cancelling. The only other one that comes close is the U.S. civil war. Ask yourself why that is.
I heard the interview and the NYT is, not surprisingly because it is a rag, cherry picking out of context comments of a long discussion. Earlier this week, the Dems brought back the tired old Russia Hoax for another run. And now they are trotting out their all-time favorite: if all else fails, call your opponent a Nazi. Ironically (they are strangers to recognizing irony), nobody is and will be a stronger supporter of Israel than the Trump-Vance duo. And of course, Biden-Harris continues to speak with a forked tongue and undermine Israel, including this week with Biden saying that Bibi was at fault for not doing enough to get the hostages freed (without explaining what enough means).
Pinkos don’t like free speech. We all know this. Carlson caught a bunch of crap when he interviewed Putin too.
