CNN — The rollout of updated Covid-19 vaccines has begun in the United States, but for the first time, the shots will no longer be free of charge for people without insurance at their local pharmacy.
Earlier in the pandemic, vaccines were purchased by the federal government and free for everyone. Last year, as the shots transitioned to the commercial market, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Bridge Access Program provided free Covid-19 vaccines to adults without insurance and those whose insurance didn’t cover all vaccine costs. The program ended last month due to lack of federal funding.
“This means that purely uninsured people do not have access to get free Covid shots and so if they went to their pharmacy to try to get one, they’d come with a cost,” said Lori Freeman, chief executive officer for the National Association of County and City Health Officials. About 26 million people in the United States are uninsured.
“We know that cost, at this moment in time with the economy, is even more of a burden than ever,” Freeman said.
Most people with private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid will still be able to get vaccinated at no out-of-pocket cost, but for adults without insurance or those whose insurance does not cover the vaccine, getting the updated shot at a pharmacy could cost $201.99.

I have worked in healthcare for decades, and I saw a lot of bad cases of shingles in that time, but when I saw my mother get shingles about a month before she died, I determined I would risk that shot.
It was absolutely horrible. It covered her neck, shoulder, and a third of her back. It weeped constantly, and her condition was miserable to dire.
We got her into a short term rehab because we could’t care for it adequately, and they said it was the worst case they had ever seen. It was certainly the worst I had ever seen.
Just horrible. I would pay the money even if insurance didn’t cover it, and it was twice as much, if it even had a chance of preventing that.
That hasn’t been my experience in life. People with no insurance rarely do anything proactively for their health.
You need a new plan. Almost all plans cover the shot for those over 50.
Can I give all the shots I never took to Kamunism? Jabbed in the neck all at the same time. For skank “health”.

Strangely, I don’t care if they charge a million bucks a shot.
I thought it was illegal not to have health insurance once Obamacare was passed?

I was at dinner tonight with three colleagues. One mentioned that he was fixing to get the latest shot like a good sheep.
He got no response from any of us. At least two of us are pure bloods. No idea about the third.
I hate to shock you but a lot of people do illegal things as a way of life.
