My folks would have called this depression coffee, like back in the ‘30’s. Basically, grind up anything that creates brown liquid.

Chicory. Yep. And Postem. As advertised on Father Knows Best tv. Mostly baked/burnt wheat. I consumed it when I could not afford coffee. Not bad but a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Close enough. Was in stores thru the 80s.

Starbucks coffee sucks. I never drank coffee during my working years. Only began brewing it after I retired in 2003. I discovered flavored coffees, and that’s about all I drink these days. I don’t like K-cup machines. Have had coffee from them when visiting friends and family. They can keep them. I have a large 16 ounce coffee cup that I use every day, and brew 3 level scoops of coffee with 6 cups of water. That gives me one cup of coffee to have with my breakfast, and a second cup to enjoy afterwards. That’s all the coffee I have each day. I used to order my coffee from Jelks in Shreveport, La., but their prices have gone up over the years. For a 12 oz. bag, it’s 11.68, plus shipping charges. The coffee is excellent, but my pocket book isn’t.

boil it once...pour....2 hours later...add some water and boil the grounds again...repeat according to your budget...

My dad did this for years...WWII...

Folgers Instant is where it’s at. Great taste, high-caffeine content.

Indeed the Starbucks addiction is for people that have no taste buds left that stuff tastes like they burned the beans with out all the sugar goop they toss in it.

The price of it is as bad as the taste of it.
