A man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnast Kara Welsh in an apartment off campus, authorities said.
Welsh, who won an individual national title on the vault for the gymnastics team last year, was allegedly shot multiple times by a 23-year-old man at an apartment about a block from the university’s main campus Friday, police said.
Police have not released the name of the suspect, but they said they believe she knew him.
The nature of their relationship was not clear.
Police said officers arrived just before midnight Friday and found Welsh dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Interesting. Whitewater straddles two counties where Trump won handily in 2016 and 2020. Jefferson and Walworth. So, not a terribly woke area.

According to the article, she was shot at an apartment. Another male was present with her. Both males had an altercation with each other at that time.
Can we say the eternal deadly triangle? Except why wasn’t the male shot. Maybe she was cheating on the perp...
Article says her relationship with perp was unclear. I would say relationship was deadly.
I am not surprised that there are grief counselors, and tributes. Too bad those measures never seem to stop the killing.
I travel through that area frequently. Over the past few years there has been a great influx of migrants. I think the goal of government is to alter the demographics of the electorate in conservative areas.

An element to that too is that most male blacks are raised by an emotional black woman with extremely little impulse control (as witnessed by weave snatching events when they don’t get their way). If the male blacks survive past childhood without getting beaten to death by mama or her latest boyfriend, then it’s a pathway to felonhood.

With the advent of cheap, widely available Glock “switches” from China making them into currently illegal machine pistols and their massive popularity among ‘certain sections of the population’, it is no longer a safe assumption that someone being shot multiple times is an emotionally charged incident.
