Cancer expert reveals how every new patient he sees is UNDER 45 - as he tells what they all have in common
DAILY MAIL ^ | 14 August 2024 | Alexa Lardieri

Posted on 09/01/2024 1:11:57 PM PDT by george76

A doctor is speaking up about the surge in cancer cases among young people - revealing 'every new patient' that comes to his clinic is under 45 years old.

North Carolina's Duke University oncologist Dr Nicholas DeVito says he and his colleagues have experienced a complete demographic switch in recent years.

Based on what he's seeing everyday, talking to patients on the ground and analyzing the data, he blames the rise of junk food diets.

Nearly 75 percent of food consumed in the US is considered ultra-processed and it is teeming with additives and potentially harmful ingredients.

Numerous studies have found an association between a high ultra-processed foods (UPFs) diet and more than 30 conditions, including multiple cancers, and an early grave.

...

The physician wrote for STAT News: 'The desire to protect Americans from substances that cause cancer and other diseases should transcend party affiliation and political motivation to overcome industrial lobbying efforts.

...

Between 1990 and 2019, cases of cancer in young people across the globe increased by 79 percent and deaths rose 28 percent.

The US has the sixth highest rate of early-onset cancers - disease in people under 50 - with 87 cases per 100,000 people younger than 50 years old.

And studies project diagnoses of early-onset cancers will rise by 31 percent and deaths will rise by 21 percent by 2030.

Cancers increasing the fastest include throat and prostate cancers. Early-onset cancers with the highest mortality include breast, tracheal (windpipe), lung, stomach and colon.

...

Dr DeVito wrote: 'I hope to have a long career in oncology and eventually practice in an era where the US has turned the tide against early-onset gastrointestinal cancers and few, if any, of my patients are under age 50.'

Health experts fear RFK Jr.’s ‘dangerous’ influence on Trump

Health experts are worried about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. could influence former President Trump's public health policies in a second term, after the prominent anti-vaccine advocate suspended his independent campaign for president and jumped aboard Trump's.

Upon announcing the move last week, Kennedy said Trump had “asked to enlist me in his administration.” Kennedy's former running mate, Nicole Shanahan, said earlier this month Kennedy would do an “incredible job” as secretary of Health and Human Services....

Better quality meats, dairy, and vegetables cost more money than the cheap stuff at Walmart, but they can be found.

But where? My daughter will many times purchase foods from a local farmer, and she says the milk is so much better. It has eased stomach discomfort considerably. But I can't find anything local to me.

Speak for yourself. Grandmother was addicted to Swanson TV dinners in the 50’s. When she died, the bottom drawer of the ice box was filled with aluminum trays. And covers. Sunday was for natural cooking when mother had had a day of rest.

My youngest son was diagnosed with cancerous polyps at the age of 49. They did two resections, taking most of his colon. He's lucky he didn't end up with a Colostomy. The polyps were so big, his surgeon told him he wished he had come to see him 10 years earlier, but he had no symptoms at that time, and they weren't screening people the age of 39 for colon cancer back then.

I started having colonoscopies at the age of 50 because my father had polyps twice, non-cancerous both times. This year was the firs time I was able to forego a Colonoscopy, and do the ColoGuard test.

My son was fortunate that he had such a good surgeon in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was living in one of the suburbs at the time. He underwent 6 months of Chemo twice a week, and the surgeon had removed a large number of surrounding lymph nodes. This past summer he had a Colonoscopy and was given his 5 year cancer-free status. He also had a full-body scan, and no cancer was visible.

They name this stuff we can’t pronounce or something we’ve never heard of. It’s disgusting what’s in our food. We’ve been eating bugs, chemicals, additives everything BUT food, they just want more of it.

Every day I feel smarter for not taking that “vaccine”.

Yet, I have to admit - my reason for declining the clot shot had nothing to do with the fear that it might have poisoned me - that came much later. The real reason was that I had no fear of Covid19.

I never took flu shots because I just don’t care if I catch a cold or flu once in a while. They aren’t that bad and they always go away in a couple days. Growing up in the 50s and 60s, my parents, most of my friends’ parents and even the family doctors in my town viewed catching a cold and “fighting it off” as a natural part of life - something that was actually good for you - it’s how your immune system stays strong - by exposure to the billions of micro-organisms we share the planet with.

Right or wrong, from my observations of the people I knew that caught Covid19, it seemed exactly the same as a common cold. Literally, the only way you could tell the difference was the test! So I didn’t worry about Covid19 one bit.

That’s why I didn’t take the vaccine - and being retired and not needing to travel - there was no one forcing me into taking the shot. My adult children were all congratulating each other for getting the vaccines and then the boosters - as if it is what any responsible person does - and they would purposely say these things within earshot of me which I just ignored. A couple acquaintances even called me a moron for refusing the shots - but I’m 72 - too old to care what other people think of me.

Then after the fact, when I reflected on how fast the FDA pushed through those shots - only then did I realize I might have dodged a bullet.

I live in Sicily, an island that's safe, beautiful and very Catholic in its sensibilities.

The food's cheap and fantastic and the wine's the same. No "woke" bullshit here. In fact, the only "woke" looking folks I see here are a few fatass, clown-dressed, tatted, jackass American tourists who pass through here during the summer.

I cringe when I see them and I avoid them like the plague.

So far knock on wood, we are not hearing about cancer with young friends and relatives. This population is fairly large in numbers in the East, Midwest, SW and in California.

In the last decade plus, We have had one female in law, die of various cancers in her 60’s. Her husband was exposed to agent Orange in Nam and is monitored by a VA hospital. So far no problems with him.

A SIL to the woman, who died, was successfully treated for cancers in the chest/lungs, similar to the woman who died.
She was treated successfully in and as an outpatient at a major cancer treatment center

These 2 women lived over 2 hundred miles apart and didn’t see each other that often.

There is one thing in common with the cancer survivor’s list that my wife keeps re longer survival with cancer patients across America:

Being treated early by an oncologist via/or in a teaching hospital.

2.2 lbs of flour in Sicily, where I live, can be had for ~75 cents. The real fancy stuff costs double that.

Here are two threads on it with links to the videos.

It’s a LONG interview, just over 2 hours. I watched it in segments. It covers a lot of ground and addresses the food issue later in the interview.
