This Guy had thought excessive consumption of carbohydrates over an extended period of time, leading to obesity, not infrequently triggers insulin resistance, prediabetes, and then, if not timely arrested by change of diet and deliberate loss of excess weight, diabetes type 2.

Yet here we have doctor's advising basically everyone to shun "red" meat, a rich source of carbohydrate-free nutrition.

Note the article does not advise different forms of meat (i.e., not "red" meat), but pushes plant-based protiens. And also tosses in a throwaway line about "greenhouse gas", "climate change", and "environmental benefits".

Is this just pure propaganda?

Gee thanks, Harvard.

I’ll continue living my life as I choose, and eating what I choose.

“propaganda” - that was my initial reaction. I don’t trust government or libtard institution generated studies.

Red meat is not the issue.

Being a fat ass is the issue with 95% of type II diabetics.

Propaganda.

Bravo sierra.

You wanna know how to tell?

Check put what’s on the menu in every government’s chi chi dining rooms. The ones the great unwashed, aka taxpayers, don’t get to see or use.

Meat. It’s what’s for Deep State’s dinner.

Lunch and breakfast, too.

But then they can afford it, can’t they.

IMO politically motivated study, propaganda. The push poll of “research papers” Harvard...
There are so many papers being recalled due to poor protocols and erroneous conclusions that I take everything with a cup of salt (not just a pinch).
So many ways to make a paper support preconceived ends that I ignore papers that support leftist doctrine. Think of all the phony climate change papers.

They can have my red meat when they pry it from my cold neuropathy ridden hands.

Actually, there’s a new discovery about C15 a fatty acid found in butter and red meat. And a deficiency in that allows iron build up that may be associated with diabetes type 2, if I recall correctly. So red meat could be related due to iron but insufficient butter seems to be the culprit.

Red Meat --> No Red Meat
No Salt --> Salt
No Lard, Vegetable Oil --> Lard, No Vegetable Oil
Milk --> No Milk
Coffee --> No Coffee --> Coffee --> No Coffee...
No Booze --> Booze --> No Booze

About the only thing that everyone has consistently agreed on is no refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

Given all of the other advice we've received it's maybe time to load up on sugar and high fructose corn syrup!

Diabetes type 2 has only 1 cause. Snacking frequently which leads to insulin resistance. Eating too much red meat combined with sedentary lifetyle will lead to other cardiovascular issues, not necessarily Diabetes type 2. Of course lots of red meat can lead to obesity which can also lead to diabetes.

Yep. I’m no scientist and I’m going to freely admit that I didn’t even read the full article, let alone try to dig into their research and references and I’m just dismissing it out of hand. Looks like utter propaganda BS on it’s face.

It has to be deceptive, at it’s very least, if not totally fraudulent.

If someone consumed ONLY red meat (which I would not advise, even as someone who is currently keto), there is absolutely no way they would go type2 diabetic.

However, if you ate lots of carbs and sugars, and threw in some steaks once in a while, sure!
But that’s complete deception. It’s not the red meat that does it. It’s all the other dietary mistakes. Having a steak once in a while doesn’t reverse them.

That’s as deceptive as the old cerial commercials from yor, when they used to say “Part of this complete nutritious breakfast” and they would show a table full of fruits and vegetables and orange juice and eggs and sausage, etc. The cereal has virtually nothing to do with the nutrition except empty calories. It’s pure deception.

I think it’s propaganda. They’ll start by pushing manufactured plant-based meat and end up advocating the consumption of bugs. The WEF says ‘You’ll have nothing, and like it.”

As I replied on this article previously, Junk Science.

The push to make red meat a villain never ends.

Consume HFCS and/or sugar on a regular basis without regular exercise and I will guarantee you a Type 2 ticket in your future.

Red meat has nothing to do with type 2 diabetes. This propaganda has one purpose, which is to paint red meat in a bad light.

The upside is, perhaps more idiots who buy into this nonsense will consume less beef, thus hopefully lowering the price of beef in the future.

I can always hope!

I have had Type II for 15 years now (genetic "gift" from both parents).

It's all about carbs and sugars (which are carbs), and combination of medicine that works for your body chemistry and lifestyle.

If you become fat with too many carbs/sugars in your blood stream, you are susceptible to developing Type II.

Red meat has no carbs, unless laced with sugar/honey/etc.

Again, this is propaganda to get animal protein out of your diet. Animal protein--in reasonable portions--makes one physically strong, mentally alert, and emotionally impenetrable.

Serious animal protein deprivation is a classic tool for cults to control people.

Why wouldn't a nefarious government use the same tactic to control its people?

This sounds like a propaganda study, funded by bug-pushing WEF types...
