According to this article from #NPR, #KamalaHarris put #BlackPeople in jail because their children with very severe chronic illnesses missed too many days of school.

Commielaw is a flaming hypocrite.
The aggressive AG strikes again...
No no-cash bail for you...
Pretty sure I have read this before, meaning it would have been a FR thread from 2020+.
I remember the video clip of that speech.
Here it is:

They ended up that evening on our couch crying about it.
Small problem, state law said that a child under six was not obligated to attend school at all. It was legally impossible for the child to be truant.
They wanted the parents to come in and "talk about it".
Since I was off that day I decided to tag along.
It. Was. Wild.
They wanted the parents to sign all kinds of papers admitting that they were at fault for the daughter not being at school as "required by law" and submit to a CPS investigation.
They refused and moved their daughter to another school.
Can’t have the kids missing their daily indoctrination.
I have a friend who teaches home bound students in our public school district. So, for example, if someone has a very long recovery from surgery, she does one-on-one lessons with the child, in person or, more frequently now, on Zoom. This keeps kids from having to repeat a year due to missed days. There is no reason to bring truancy accusations into the picture when it is a health concern.
Oh, that. Seems like National Partisan Radio is doing some CYA. Oh, and, Bolling, the sudden scramble to obliterate ballot access for the Green Party is completely unrelated to the Kennedy endorsement. /s
Truancy is a problem that requires personal and school solutions, not prosecutions.
