Terrifying doorbell video has captured the moment a Florida couple was ambushed, shot and robbed just outside their home after hitting a slot machine jackpot at a casino.
Kim Chambliss and her boyfriend Val Delacruz were targeted by two masked assailants soon after they cashed their $3,300 winnings at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa on Aug. 2, Fox 13 reported.
The two alleged perps — later identified as Marcus Jenkins, 34, and Tristin Wright, 36 — had watched the couple gamble and play the slots for roughly two hours before tailing them home just before 5 a.m., cops said.
The suspects allegedly opened fire on the unsuspecting couple in their driveway after demanding they cough up their winnings.

Marcus, Roman guy?
This is happening frequently.
Can you deposit your winnings directly to your bank account instead of taking cash?
Would that help, or would the robbers just try forcing people to withdraw money?
Yeah, 3G is not a lot in terms of casino jackpots. I can see why people might let their guard down. People just don’t know how bad it is out there. I once won $800 at a casino and made it a point to keep walking around before leave. Maybe I was being paranoid but it seemed like there were a couple of people watching me from a distance. They were separated from each other but and trying to keep position between me and the doors but trying not to be obvious. All that just for $800? I guess they consider it a score even at that level. How much drugs can you buy with that?
Too bad they can’t wire the money
Bet you somebody working at the casino tipped them off.
This happens at banks when someone makes a large withdrawal.
I wonder if the couple even had the money on them. Don’t Casinos usually pay with a check and withhold taxes on sums that large?
Ask any coin dealer or bullion dealer at coin shows and they’ll tell you some stories. When they pack their vehicles up after a show they never stop until they get back to a safe area, they take circuitous routes, armed, go pro etc...
For a cut, or likely, they hang around and watch to see who wins and tail them.
Et tu, Marce?
That happened to me once after winning a jackpot.
I was almost certain one guy was following me towards the parking garage.
I did a quick U turn and walked straight towards a security guard and started talking with the security guard for a few minutes. The person following me quickly moved off in the opposite direction.
My head is always on a swivel in locations with crowds.
"Hey, Tristin. Let's watch that couple for a couple of hours. I just KNOW they are going to win big tonight. Then we can tail them home and rob them."
"Marcus, you be genius, man! Great plan. I'm in!"
“This is happening frequently.”
Don’t the casinos have security people on the floor watching for people just hanging around watching other people?
Yep! The usual suspects! Amish. < sarcasm>
The First 48 had a story about someone getting killed on the way home from a casino recently. Seems it is not an anomaly to be robbed after winning, especially if your next stop is a trap house.
Black as the ace of spades.
a friend of mine was telling me about a guy who just won a huge jackpot and asked for the payoff in chips. Something like a million bucks. they used $25k chips. even if you get security to take you to your car you have to worry about people following you.
i asked for my jackpot via check and I will still paranoid. I didnt ask for an escort to my car but I didnt go to my car for awhile, didnt drive to my house (drove to a hotel), parked, watched for someone to follow me, and then went home
I felt like some kind of paranoid spy caper but I wasnt going to risk the craziness that goes on with people who try to rob you.
I wasnt so much afraid they would rob me on the spot but that they would come back later.
