An apparent cat burglar struck a Queens deli last weekend — snatching a bodega’s 18-year-old tabby that one grieving worker said is like his “teenager.”
Video captured the moment the stranger scooped up and carried away Antonio, a staple of K’Glen Deli and Sari Sari Store in Woodside.
“The people love him here. People always stop in the store looking for the cat. They keep saying, ‘Where’s the cat?’” Glen Alagasi, who has owned the deli since 2014, told The Post.
“I’m very sad without Antonio.”

People are demented. Leave the damn cat alone

Some people take great joy out of creating misery for other people. If the person in question didn’t kill the cat outright, he probably abandoned him in a part of the city that he won’t be able to find his way.

You should be able to kill someone taking your property.
That would end thefts quite fast.

This makes me super sad. I hope someone can identify the young man and that Antonio can be found and returned to his owner.

The cat was roaming free? In front of store? In New York? With all the filth? That’s a strange way to treat something you love.

The cat generally dictates terms. We took in a young male kitten and kept him indoors for "safety" here in urban Phoenix. He got bored and after eating a broken piece of chair leg tip and later a child's Lego wheel and two expensive surgeries later, we let him go outside as he begged to do. Four years later, no more incidents. He loves the freedom the cat flap gives him.

My sister lives in Arizona and is a HUGE animal lover! But yet she has a cat door and hers come and go at will. I can’t tell you how many cats she’s gone through due to coyotes, rattlesnakes etc. Lots of wailing and grief. Go figure.

Our present neighborhood doesn’t seem to have many coyotes. Outdoor cata both pets and feral proliferate. We also have no roof rats. Does your sister live near the mountains? That where many hazards dwell. Some people accept attrition as the cost of a cat living his life… sort of like motorcyclists.

Probably some Karen who wanted to post how she or he “rescued” a “stray” cat from certain death on Facebook.
