Some people take great joy out of creating misery for other people. If the person in question didn’t kill the cat outright, he probably abandoned him in a part of the city that he won’t be able to find his way.
Check the Chinese restaurant down the block.

You should be able to kill someone taking your property.
That would end thefts quite fast.
This makes me super sad. I hope someone can identify the young man and that Antonio can be found and returned to his owner.
One of the “newcomers” probably ate it.
Cat woman?
The cat was roaming free? In front of store? In New York? With all the filth? That’s a strange way to treat something you love.
Migrants got him... taste like chicken.
Probably some Karen who wanted to post how she or he “rescued” a “stray” cat from certain death on Facebook.
Better rush down to Chinatown and check the daily specials...
In this day and age, nothing surprises me. Feel sorry for the owners. Over the decades, we have had several cats reach 17, 18. When you start with them at just a few weeks old, 18 years is a long time. They are there, every day. While nothing like man’s best friend, anything you have, for that long, and is alive, becomes part of the family. Our current feline was rescued from up in a tall tree. Seemed about 4 weeks old, and was screaming. Besides the fleas, it was in great shape. The first day in our home, it found and used the cat box. We put out flyers with its picture around where it was found, but no one answered. Also, it is the spitting image of a previous cat we had. Since it was found way up in a tree, we invested in two TALL cat trees, and it climbs up and down all the time.
Spread the picture of the guy (creep?) that took him. Someone knows this guy.
Perp didn’t look like was hunting the cat. Cat seemed friendly and not afraid...I have a feeling perp might have thought the cat was a stray....hope he returns cat....but if he was a cruel person and harmed the cat or abandons cat...I would hope the perp gets treated the same way.
