The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released the biggest causes of mortality in 2023.
The report, published by the agency on Aug. 8, was based on death records from the National Vital Statistics System.
A total of 3,090,582 deaths occurred in the U.S. in 2023, a decline of 6.1% compared to 2022, the report stated.
"The overall death rate is decreasing," Dr. Marc Siegel, senior medical analyst for Fox News and clinical professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, told Fox News Digital.
"The key change is decreased deaths from COVID as the population builds up more immunity."

My mom died at age 90. She wasn't sick...not on any meds...she was weak and we watched her deteriorate over a ten year period. No heart attack...no stroke....no cancer...they finally gave her a shot...and a few hours later, she was dead. That's called a death of old age.

2. CDC

“As the smoking population declines these numbers will change towards more obesity related diseases.”
I wonder if they have cancer types broken down somewhere.
I haven’t seen that on any modern death certificate. (Post 1980’ish)
Where was abortion on the list????
I believe nothing the CDC puts out. They are liars and manipulators. Wanting to direct funding where they see fit.
I stopped reading at CDC because they have less than zero credibility.
Guns have been slacking off....
Liars!
Chinese Fentanyl by itself is killing over 100,000 per year, and is not listed.
“Living” is the Number one cause of Death
A few factoids, with one directed at your post —
1) Heart disease is the number one killer up to age 60. Then the #1 and #2 causes flip.
2) Strangely, cause of cirrhosis about 2 yrs ago stopped being primarily alcohol. It is NASH — a severe form of fatty liver that progresses to cirrhosis without massive weight loss.
3) The reason old age becomes a difficult cause of death declaration is because of Life Expectancy by age. Covid effects are still in the LE stats but a reasonable number is 76 — AT BIRTH. But if you make it to 65, your LE is well beyond 76. And if you make it to 80, 87ish is what the stats say. So dying at 82 could be presumed to be a tad early.
If Kami the commie gets elected, I hope I die sooner rather than later because she'll make a world that I don't want any part of.
I guess my relatives all died of horrible accidents or disease. None of them lived long enough to die of Old Age. Ha ha.
I am hoping to break that streak.
Where is death by the medical industry including doctor and hospital incompetence?
Uhh, I’m pretty sure it’s still 100%.
Birth is a terminal illness.
Abortion should top the list. Way, way, at the top.
