The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) proposed a revenue procedure this week to crack down on the service industry's reporting of tips.

The Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) program would be a voluntary tip reporting system in which the IRS and service industry companies cooperate, according to the announcement Monday. As part of the proposal, the IRS will give the public until early May to provide feedback on the program before implementing it.

Just a blast from the Harris administration’s past before Trump began scoring points with “no tax on tips”.

Biden’s IRS is Harris’s IRS. She proposed no taxes on tips yesterday. Both things can’t be true. She’s a lying sack of manure.

If I choose to give someone money out of my own free will, that should be my business, not the IRS’s.

I learned a life lesson a long time ago while traveling on business. If I was staying at a hotel for three or four nights, I would always tip the waiter/waitress very well the first morning I would have breakfast. I figured that same person would be working the next morning and my food and coffee would be hot, and I was right.

We are going to need a ‘tip collection’ agency.

A part of the IRS, and fully armed.

They send someone into a resturant, who leaves a cash tip, which is marked and bugged. And they have secret cameras, for facial recognition.

There is too much tip money not accounted for and taxed. Must stop.

The IRS is Gestapo. However, considering the tips are somewhere between 10 and 20% of the total revenue of the restaurant owner, it is not insignificant. Tips probably come close to the restaurant owner’s profit margin? It isn’t necessarily chump change but they need to leave it alone, it can’t be tracked in a reasonable way.

Voluntary tip reporting is just a way for them to gather data so they can extrapolate that into a means of automatically inflating the income of hospitality workers and sending them a tax bill. They of course will be taxpayers who do not have the wherewithal to fight back and will be forced to just pay up.
