Applebee's recently brought back their all you can eat appetizer, which includes their double-crunch shrimp, tender riblets and boneless buffalo wings for just $15.99.
With that, you also get unlimited fries — just as long as you don't share them. It's a rule the restaurant tells patrons of ahead of time (it's noted on the menu), but a woman in Illinois disregarded that warning and shared her appetizers anyway.
She likely regrets it now.
It all went down on August 2 at approximately 8:30 PM, when Portage, Ill. police responded to a verbal disturbance at an Applebee’s Bar & Grill.
Dispatch reportedly advised officers that while on the 911 call, they heard multiple females screaming and threatening people. When officers arrived on the scene, they were met outside by an unruly restaurant-goer.
The woman became involved in a verbal altercation with the local Applebee's manager because she was under the impression that "all you can eat" meant the whole table could enjoy one order of bottomless appetizers.
When informed by the manager that no, each person at the table would need to pay the $15.99 cost, words were exchanged, and things got out of hand.
Even with police on site, other diners told the offender how much she'd disturbed their dinner experience with her shouting, which led to more loud arguing. At one point, the woman even tried to cover another person's mouth with her hand while speaking.
After being warned of potential arrest for disorderly conduct, she continued to be disruptive. So, she was put in handcuffs and taken away in a patrol vehicle.
Shawneesha Cobbs of Chicago was taken to the Porter County Jail, where she was formally charged with disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.

Correct, proper action of the manager would be to shoot her as she stood or sat to shut her up along with calming the situation down and charged her meal campanion the $16 since that person did not abide by the TOS. Leave the police out of the situation and take out the manipulative garbage. Plenty of patrons there would have gladly came back and consumed another fine meal at Applebees the next day and the day after that... Shoot, they probably would do the same if the manager called the police on the perp who was being disruptive and had that manipulative piece of trash arrested for disoderly conduct as well.
It all depends on whose ox is getting gored.
She was not arrested for sharing an appetizer. The restaurant was willing to settle for charging the other diners at the table the $15.99 and call it a day.
Instead, the woman got belligerent and made a loud scene. The police were called and she was arrested for disorderly conduct.
The sharing of the appetizer had nothing to do with her arrest.
You may have missed the argument about all that on the previous page of this discussion thread. The headline is not a lie. It says “AFTER,” not “BECAUSE OF.” Correlation is not causation; it was misleading, but not a lie.

Why is it that in many parts of the country chain restaurants are pretty much all they have? Can no local residents figure out how to open a local shop?
C’mon man, the entitled African Princess was arrested for disorderly conduct outside the restaurant because of her interaction with police and other guests. But then that wouldn’t be a grab ya headline would it?
