Applebee's recently brought back their all you can eat appetizer, which includes their double-crunch shrimp, tender riblets and boneless buffalo wings for just $15.99.
With that, you also get unlimited fries — just as long as you don't share them. It's a rule the restaurant tells patrons of ahead of time (it's noted on the menu), but a woman in Illinois disregarded that warning and shared her appetizers anyway.
She likely regrets it now.
It all went down on August 2 at approximately 8:30 PM, when Portage, Ill. police responded to a verbal disturbance at an Applebee’s Bar & Grill.
Dispatch reportedly advised officers that while on the 911 call, they heard multiple females screaming and threatening people. When officers arrived on the scene, they were met outside by an unruly restaurant-goer.
The woman became involved in a verbal altercation with the local Applebee's manager because she was under the impression that "all you can eat" meant the whole table could enjoy one order of bottomless appetizers.
When informed by the manager that no, each person at the table would need to pay the $15.99 cost, words were exchanged, and things got out of hand.
Even with police on site, other diners told the offender how much she'd disturbed their dinner experience with her shouting, which led to more loud arguing. At one point, the woman even tried to cover another person's mouth with her hand while speaking.
After being warned of potential arrest for disorderly conduct, she continued to be disruptive. So, she was put in handcuffs and taken away in a patrol vehicle.
Shawneesha Cobbs of Chicago was taken to the Porter County Jail, where she was formally charged with disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.

Let’s all take a side. Obviously the restaurant is at fault for telling the woman that she is not supposed to share her appetizer and obviously they called the cops arrest her for sharing her appetizer. Bad restaurant! Although the woman objected to being told and she took her victimhood up several levels and would not accept an apology because racism.
The word “because” is not in the headline. Your logic and reading comprehension is suspect. Pathetic really.
Even though the headline is "technically" correct in that she was arrested after splitting the appetizer, that wasn't the reason she was arrested. Correlation, not causation.
The headline may as well have read, "Woman arrested after parking her car at Applebee's"
So you can just stop trying to dig yourself out of the hole you are in before you hit China and bring back another pest.
The Red Lobster fiasco was driven in part by claims to corporate headquarters and various restaurant rating websites of "RAYSISUM!!!" after blacks would complain that the evil white managers wouldn't let them share a single Unlimited Shrimp platter across the whole table.
In the wake of the "Racial Reckoning" corporate sided with the complaining customers (thieves, actually) and told the store managers to just let it go.

We had a smaller problem at the Pizza Hut where I worked in the early ‘80s. Mothers ordering salad bar would give crackers to a youngster. We just added .15 to the bill and called it a day.
All you can eat restaurants are basically stupid if you don’t charge everyone.
I couldn’t care less about any of this except to say that “All You Can Eat Appetizer” is an oximoron if I ever heard one.
