'My life is threatened - there is no hope here'
BBC ^ | Aug 5 | BBC

Posted on 08/05/2024 10:01:56 AM PDT by RandFan

"It's not easy to stay here—more for my life and my safety; I can't try over and over again with the same result."

Mohammed Idris, who owns Bash café, in south Belfast, says he will not reopen after his business was set alight during violent protests.

Disorder broke out after an anti-immigration protest in the city on Saturday.

Mr Idris has told BBC News NI his businesses have been targeted before, saying his shop on Sandy Row was targeted last year.

"My computer shop was completely damaged just like this café. This café was a hope, a place for a community - there is no hope here now."

Recounting the night his cafe was attacked he says a group of people "shouted my name, 'Where is Mohammed?', then they smashed all windows on the ground floor."

However, he told BBC News NI that the worst came overnight when his business was set on fire.

"For me it’s not easy - it is so difficult when they know your name. It’s scary - my life threatened. A group of people coming - shouting my name, just people who came from different areas."

He most likely saved up the money and also likely had help from his family. Many Muslims have lived very peacefully in Ireland and the United Kingdom for years. Remember Britain had ties to much of the Middle East and India. It was not unusual for sons of well to do families from the region to pursue education in England. These sons legally immigrated and had families and set down roots. Not only that radical Islam had not emerged as a true threat. So it was very unlikely they were influenced by it.

To compare them to recent illegal Muslim immigrants from North Africa and Mid East would be like comparing the Cuban refugees who came after Castro to the Mariel boat people.

It is rather ignorant that so many lump all Muslims together. Doing so makes it more difficult to combat radical Islam. It should also be remembered in most parts of the world where Islam is in the majority the most likely victims of Islamist terror are other Muslims.

Having written that I totally agree that the newer group of illegal or refugee Muslims (especially from Africa) will never assimilate to life in the U.K. Why should they when they are told over and over how evil Britain is and has been in her dealings with former colonies? Why should they when major sexual crimes go unpunished? Why should they when deportation is likely to never happen?

The Mohammad in this story doesn’t seem to be trying to convert anyone by the sword - as far as we know, he was just making a living doing something useful for the community, and had been there for 22 years.

I’ve known numerous Muslims who were stranded here in the US after 1979; they had no interest in ‘imposing their culture’, either. They despised what the Islamic Revolution had done to their country, appreciated the US, assimilated, became citizens, and stayed.

The man Bashir is correct – it’s ridiculous to hate and harm someone you know nothing at all about.

I wonder how many “good people” operate businesses that are used to fund the “not good people?”

Eons ago (early 2000s), when I lived in Maryland, I regularly got lunch at a Kebab shop. Got to know the owner a bit; very friendly chap and helluvagood cook. He was a middle eastern type fellow, I figured Arab but not sure which country.

Then suddenly one day his prosperous shop was closed, permanently. WTF, right?

Turns out he was Iraqi. And when our guys were going through the Saddam regime's papers, they found this guy's file. And his handler. And all the spying he had done, starting in 1989. He was tried, convicted, imprisoned for a time, and then deported.

Trust Be suspicious, and verify.

What they did to those 6 year old girls was unimaginable.
How many of them have stood up against it, with heart and soul?

They invariably push for mosques in their areas and then the blasting of call-to-prayers daily.

It’s the offspring that always turn out to be the problem. Most who do immigrate are generally grateful and support their new country. That changes with subsequent generations, who have no appreciation for the hellhole their parents escaped from.

For years the so-called immigrants have been rapeing and murdering British females while the government’s two tiered system has given them the OK because it’s their culture. The government is finally getting some blowback and their lapdog media is in coverup propaganda mode.

“Where’d he get all the money from to open multiple shops?”
Here in the US they get all kinds of tax advantages that we don’t get, making it hard to compete against them.
They often rotate businesses among themselves to somehow keep their tax breaks coming indefinitely.

Yep. There were a lot of them working with me in Silicon Valley, I counted many as my friends.

Did you miss this part of my post:

Anyone who is legally in this country and wants to attain US citizenship and be a contributing part of our culture and our economy is welcome in my house.

My point was that the Mohammad in the story was apparently contributing, and could very well be a citizen after living decades there.

Some quiet, “productive members” use their profits to financially feed their destructive organizations. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t even strong armed into it, mafia style.

True.
“It’s not the Muslims who are a threat to the UK. It’s the people running the UK who are a threat to Britain by forcing hundreds of thousands of Muslims into their towns and cities.”
