The Mohammad in this story doesn’t seem to be trying to convert anyone by the sword - as far as we know, he was just making a living doing something useful for the community, and had been there for 22 years.
I’ve known numerous Muslims who were stranded here in the US after 1979; they had no interest in ‘imposing their culture’, either. They despised what the Islamic Revolution had done to their country, appreciated the US, assimilated, became citizens, and stayed.
The man Bashir is correct – it’s ridiculous to hate and harm someone you know nothing at all about.

Yep. There were a lot of them working with me in Silicon Valley, I counted many as my friends.
