In 2018, slaughterhouses, factory farms, and smaller farms killed around 2.27 million sheep in the US alone. Most of these sheep were young lambs who went to their premature deaths so we could eat their meat.

And rosemary
another cntribution of love from the don’t-eat-that crowd.
Yeah, but it’s not like they are eating them….
Oh, wait… some do. (Reference Frazzledrip)
The author wants us to eat them alive?
I would think you would get parasites that way.
Ask any vegan whether they brush their teeth.
When they say they do, accuse them of murdering the microbes in their mouth.
“But they’re so small!”, they may complain.
“So you admit you’re a murderer and sizeist to boot!”
I don’t think there are that many cows that die of old age. Or chickens. Or pigs. Or goats.
Any animal which is raised for human consumption is not kept alive for years, waiting for a natural death so they can be butchered and consumed.
We raise sheep (sending about 1000 to market a year). We also have pigs on our farm. We also raise a few cows every couple of years for food. We also have chickens, turkeys, pheasant, ducks and geese. Not one of them dies of natural causes.
Roasted leg of lamb is delicious! I love lamb shanks as well. Or the ribs. Every bit of it is good. Ontario lamb is mild, yet flavorful.
So does Sam’s Club and pretty reasonably.
I love mutton and lamb.
My extended family have been raising sheep in South Dakota for almost a century.
Ditto
the humane league....are these people vegans?
If you live near a large metro area, find your nearest Mohammedan grocery store/butcher shop.
Lamb is fresh, plentiful, and cheap.
Might be the one thing these stores are good store.
One near my home had a great selection of huge lamb chops, lamb steaks and roasts. All fresh, not the frozen stuff from New Zealand. And it was cheap!
Mmmm....
I understand why they think that way.
Its because they hate people at the core of it. To them, people are the whole problem on the planet. Not the sun. Not anything in nature. They think we have far more control over things than we do.
Now they also think they themselves ought to be spared from their own people-hating plans, because they are pushing the ideas to get rid of (other) people not as enlightened as they are, and are essential to be around to execute and oversee and tweak the plans.
You’re welcome. :)
Nuttin’ but mutton to eat.
There was a Farside cartoon that was funny to me.
Mary Had a Little Lamb,
With Potato and Mint Jelly!
How are they humanely killed?
Plenty of aoudad in Texas. You can hunt them year round. No tags, no limit.
They are mostly west of the Brazos River.
Good luck, it’s a tough hunt.
Do vegans claim that microbes are sentient beings?
My wife is Serbian. I am pretty sure we will keep eating lamb.
