A temperature spike of nearly 20 degrees occurred in western Nebraska early Tuesday morning from a relatively rare phenomenon called a heat burst.

The temperature rose from 73.9 degrees to 92.3 degrees in about 2 hours. That temperature rise happened at a weather station early Tuesday morning in Ogallala, Nebraska, from 12:15 a.m. MDT to approximately 2:00 a.m. MDT. The temperature then fell back down into the 70s shortly thereafter.

Several other weather stations in the area also saw brief, notable overnight temperature increases, including one that jumped to 94 degrees.

Down slope on the face of mountain ranges they are not uncommon. Away from mountains they are fairly rare. I was in one on a winter night where it rose from 25 to 65. You could hear pavement cracking.

It makes me curious if they calculate in the “heat bursts” in say July of the year 1066 when they are figuring out what the hottest day of the millenium was.

We are in Omaha area. They are forecasting “heat index” of 115 for tomorrow here. This helps explain why.

We have relatives in your eastern sister state, and this weird temp is hammering them now and predicted later on this
evening.

weather.com is and always has been climate change looneys, and they have a major part of their operation coming from the very queer rainbow online page that was... wait for it— the Weather Underground. Could not get any more ironically obvious than that- the founder of weatherunderground.com was and is a major Leftist weather-kook.

The Weather Channel now owns weatherunderground, and the “Weather Company”. Acquisition some time ago— magnifying Climate Change (anthropogenic ie. Man caused climate—an impossibilty except in the micro climate of a massive nuclear detonation).

We had frost in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula a couple nights ago. Inland, low-lying area. No wind. dropped to about 30 and frosted briefly. Frost in Late July. Weather is interesting.

I guess we need an “atmospheric river” to quell the “heat burst”.

Uncommon, but easily explained. Occurs when a dry microburst penetrates the evening stable layer. Nothing to do with alleged climate change.

They wouldn't do that. Year 1066 was during the Medieval Warm Period, which would show that our Modern Warm Period is nothing new under the sun.

That term has been around from way before the envirowackos were around. But they’ll use it in their ongoing propaganda.
