Explain WhyWe Are We Even Adversaries With Russia?
Self | 07/19/2024 | Self

Russia supports our adversaries because we still treat Russia as our adversary. A change in policy could change the global world order overnight. China and Islamists are our true enemies.

Why the Cold War?

“The irony is that the sowers of those seeds (Soviet marxists) are virtually extinct. There are more communists today in America than there are in Russia.”

Beyond that, the ONLY European countries questioning the Neocon War in Ukraine are former Soviet Block countries, countries that were OCCUPIED by the Soviet Union, for decades...yet they seem to understand today’s Russia FAR BETTER than the Neocons.

China and Islamists are our true enemies.

Islam is an afterthought by simply controlling immigration. China is a regional power. They are not to be taken lightly, but outside of Taiwan, they are not exactly demonstrating a “Lebensraum” foreign policy.

You have it backwards. The most pro-NATO anti-Russian countries in Europe ARE those East European countries formerly ruled by Russia.

Poland
Czech republic
Romania
Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Finland (that was “Finlandized”)

Hungary is an outlier, and arguably Slovakia, which has always had a beef with their brother Czechs.

Serbia was never under the Soviet Union. Their problems are their own.

Russia “joined” enthusiastically. That’s why they have an export based economy today.

Later, once prosperous, they developed imperial ambitions, again.

“It’s because the filthy democrats have used them as a whipping boy and political weapon against Trump. Russia should be a natural ally but dem scum poisoned that well.”

And it seems almost dystopian having a little army of Zeepers running around here vociferously DEFENDING the Democrat policy towards Russia. It feels like being on DU. And just wait until these Democrat-defenders find out what happened at the Republican Convention. While I doubt they’ve been fed the results yet, the two BIG RESULTS is that Trump and Vance were nominated for the November Ticket, and that Trump is now in FULL CONTROL of the Republican Party (that one has to sting the most).

They (China) are definitely seeking to bring the whole of East Asia under the yoke.

taking Taiwan (and South China Sea islands) is key. With that they will control trade routes to Japan and South Korea. They will have a chokehold on all East Asian trade.

“The external proletariat should also have a feature rulers can identify as evil or undesirable. Russia fits this bill perfectly. We aren’t heavily invested in Russia plus most of them are White and therefore supposedly racist.”

You can also add that Russia is NOT for Globohomo, Climate Change, Mass Immigration, Atheism, and butchering little boys. I’m still convinced that is what is really driving the Neocons.

You have permanent US interests, and strategies, that were set in stone since 1945.

Until Vietnam these were common to both parties. The Democrats took advantage of the Vietnam debacle (which they caused) to oppose Republican administrations. That’s where all the pacifist-communist rhetoric came from.

It was a bipartisan consensus (Bush I and Clinton) that did the vast Defense drawdown of the 1990’s.

“Didn’t Kissinger want to play the Soviet Union and China off against each other not unite them into one entity? Well why do the Neocons want to unite Russia and China?”

Correct on Kissinger, he did that to tie up a good part of the Soviet Army, and it worked.

As to the Neocons today, they NEVER wanted to unite Russia and China, and they NEVER thought that Russia and China would unite, under any condition (hell, Zeepers were posting that here at the beginning of the Ukraine War, they’re really quiet now on that).

Any with HALF A BRAIN knew that if we intentionally made ENEMIES with both Russia and China, that they would be drawn to each other. Obviously the Neocons were don’t even have half a brain. Further, the Russians were in shock that people as STUPID as the Neocons could be running US foreign policy as to drive China and Russia into each other’s arms.

If Trump is able to stop the Neocons before we start losing cities in World War 3, then we’ll know why Trump turned his head at the last moment when that bullet was about to be on its way.

“Who actually thought we could beat Russia?”

The Neocons actually BELIEVED the crap that Russia’s economy was half the size of Italy’s, and 1/10th the size of the US economy.

I doubt anyone ever bothered telling them that nominal GNP including things like Vaginal Studies Majors, DEI Specialists, Sierra Club Lawyers, and Welfare.

That was a good argument 70 years ago, but things have changed in the last 30 years. Russia’s been exposed to Western ways for some time now. Opportunities opened up that weren’t available before, but they were squandered by both sides.
