Russia supports our adversaries because we still treat Russia as our adversary. A change in policy could change the global world order overnight. China and Islamists are our true enemies.
Right now Russian "expansion" seems to be much more of a problem. Georgia, Chechnya, Crimea, and the current attempt to seize Ukraine are much more significant than Chinese efforts to take control of some atolls in the Pacific.
I’m not reading the comments.
Kudos for putting yourself out there.
Needed to be tabled.
I will never comprehend the utter stupidity...eh: ‘Nuff said.
Russia and China have been allies since the communist take over of China. Russia provided the arms and support Mao needed to take over China.
Thanks for sharing delusional Russian thinking. Do you really believe what you say or is it written up in the talking points?
We see the 4 year old joining the fray.
I'm always impressed with the number of Freepers who are stuck in 1985 and didn't get the memo. Russia is not communist. It's not a great constitutional republic either, but calling it communist is just false.
As to calling China an ally of the Russia when it WAS communist - WOW you must be old. Because now you are reverting to the early 1960's, before they turned into enemies and almost went to war with each other. They remained enemies through the end of the USSR.
Is that why many Russian soldiers say "Allahu Akbar" when they narrowly escape death in combat, or their RPG hits the target they aimed at?
When and if the US stops its aggression toward Russia, relations will improve.
Russia was repressive to its own people and fiercely expansionist, even under the Czars. And after the appalling, murderous Russian Revolution in 1917, they used Marxist ideological and organizing tactics to take over Russia and its neighbors, exterminate religion, and infiltrate, undermine, and when possible, subjugate foreign governments, big and small, all over the globe--Western Europe, Easter Europe, China, Africa, South America. . . and for some reason, they have a big presence in Antarctica. (Are they teaching the penguins about Marx?)
I grew up in American suburbia in the 1950s and '60s. There were families, many of whom were our friends, who were getting their information on world events and about America (and how evil American patriots are, especially religious ones, and especially white ones, etc., etc.). Sons and daughters of some of our friends, after studying at elite American colleges, went to Russia to train at the Patrice Lumumba [Spy] School, where they learned how to plant bombs to kill policemen in America--which some of them did as The Weathermen, for which they briefly went to prison. They learned their outlook and criminal skills from agents of the Soviet Union.
The Free-Love, Feminist, "Marriage Bad, Abortion Great" propaganda was right out of the "advanced" ideas that Russian "active measures" agents and their pupils taught the starry-eyed, simple-minded teachers at US colleges, including Teachers' College at Columbia University in New York, where my mother got her art degree (without swallowing the BS). The violent, murderous, empty-headed suicide of Western culture in the US, France, and the UK was cultivated by departments of the Soviet government as a means of weakening and undermining the West.
The Russians took a big hit when Communist ideas caused Russia itself to collapse--in particular the ones outlawing private property except for Communist Party bosses--which undermined the Russian economy into a pile of sand.
But they're still at the game of gnawing at everyone else's timbers, hoping to make them collapse, so Russia can enslave them--as in Ukraine. Not that I think we must overlook American survival in order to save Ukraine at all costs.
There is much that is beautiful and good and holy in Russian culture. But that part was not in charge under the Communists, and it's not in charge now. Putin and other ambitious, cruel men there are still Communist at heart.
Putrid is a wannabe Stalin who has invaded Ukraine with a scorched earth, genocidal army.
And that is just the short list.

Yep….my error.
1. Russia is anti LGBTQ
2. Russia is white
That’s all the reason you need to piss off neocons
There were confrontations on the USSR-China border in the Cold War Era real history reported on in my childhood.
Foreign policy guru Henry Kissinger feeding into that back in his time around 1970 opening up China wanting to play China against the Soviets and vice versa.
Not that I like it but when we talked Ukraine to give up it’s nukes we said we’d defend them and we didn’t.
Why we are trying to do it now the devil only knows!
“1. Russia is anti LGBTQ

True, but they’re also against Climate Change, Mass Immigration, and cutting the dicks off of little boys.
Like it or not, much of what they stand for matches the Conservative agenda...which has to make one wonder: Just who are these people here that HATE Russia so much?
“Just who are these people here that HATE Russia so much?”
Transsexuals on the payroll of the CIA
Muscowy is stuck in an imperialist mindset and sees the USA as a rival stopping Moscow from conquering more land.
Putin, being former KGB knows what they did to us infiltrating our education system, government and media.
He has realized communism doesn't work, and is deathly afraid the USA will become communist and eventually do the same to Russia as the KGB did to us.
Because none of those piddling African countries have nukes aimed at America's heartland.
None of them have nuclear submarines posted just miles outside of our waters.
Next question?

Yeah, we're the "Bad Guys!"
