Ariane 6 has suffered an Anomaly in orbit, and is currently stuck in orbit.

Maybe they should pay their NATO bills instead of screwing up in space?
You win the thread.
I detested her ever since licked those donuts and said “I hate Americans.”
I hope she’s stuck up there forever.
“ Ariane 6 has suffered an Anomaly”
Well I never liked her music anyway .
They showed some video during yhe webcast, looked like the 2nd stage was spinning. At one point they said there was a problem the ended the webcast
NO it had some cubesats on it first launch of their new rocket
I recall some lost missions; I wonder what their fail rate was and what effect that has upon insuring pricy cargoes, such as expensive satellite arrays?
Was Boeing involved?
It will return to Earth eventually—perhaps in a lot of small pieces....
:-)
Did you know that both SpaceX and Blue Origin (Bezos) began in the very early 2000s. Blue Origin is famous for taking Captain Kirk up and down, a suborbital jaunt of a few minutes.
Elon Musk and SpaceX have revolutionized rocketry and space travel. With the mastery of reusability, the cost of placing humans and ‘stuff’ in space has plummeted. The SpaceX Falcon 9 workhorse is now more reliable than Boeing. Some of the Falcon 9 first stages have flown twenty times, and plans are in the works to increase that reusability to 40 times.
The MASSIVE Super Heavy, 33 engines rocket is not yet reusable, but it has proven it can boost large amounts of stuff into orbit. In the last test launch, SpaceX proved it could not just boost the massive Starship vehicle into space, the Super Heavy booster also returned to Earth under control, and ‘landed’ in a specific spot. As this is still testing, it landed in the ocean, to make sure that if something went wrong, no one was in danger. Very soon the huge booster will launch and return to the launch area, just like the Falcon 9.
If you have never seen the video of the Falcon Heavy twin rockets returning and landing simultaneously in Florida, be sure to look it up.
Ariane 6 is not reusable, and will not be a long-term tool. Many, many companies and countries have chosen SpaceX to launch their large and small satellites and probes. The cost is in the millions instead of billions, and reliable. In fact, part of the Bezos space adventure is the Kuiper Internet Satellite system (Amazon), a supposed competitor to StarLink. The Amazon / Kuiper board of directors did not, at first, consider SpaceX as a possible launch provider. SpaceX has even launched OneWeb satellites, another StarLink competitor.
Be sure to check out Robert Zimmerman and his amazing website https://www.behindtheblack.com for all things space, rocketry, etc.
I agree. Competition tends to bring out the best ideas and best performance. Musk and Space-X have done a remarkable job of designing, building, and flying new rocket engines and launchers. They have put their competitors to shame and revolutionized the space launch business.
I am sure of that. Obama the Usurper ruined NASA and when it dies it shall not be mourned. America was build on private enterprise in spite of our governments at all levels. If the federal government outlawed Moon colonies then within 10 years the Moon would have a greater population than Earth.
🎼Ashes to ashes, funk to funky...
Evidently a problem restarting the 2nd stage engines. I saw a Chinese booster burn up a few years ago, spectacular sight and I wonder when/where this one will re-enter. All in all, a very successful first flight. The customer payloads were delivered to orbit.
There are a few senators who deserve to be launched into space.
“currently stuck in orbit.”
Aren’t all orbiting satellites “stuck in orbit”?
Or do they mean they can’t get a burn ignited to move to a higher orbit.
“Be sure to check out Robert Zimmerman and his amazing website...”
Bob Dylan (legally Robert Dylan;[3] born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter.
And space junkie?
Did those deploy?
not to nitpick, but my English comp teacher taught us to never start a sentence with a preposition, and to be careful with the use of commas. Wracked? Racked? What has happened to Wikipedia?
