So big freaking what? He was a great actor. North by Northwest was his best role.

They’ve said the same kind of things about Bob Hope.

Amen to that. And I had a crush on Eva Marie Saint. And the years rolled by, and then I see her portraying Tom Hanks’ mother in “Nothing in Common”, with Jackie Gleason. I said, “Oh my, Eva! We have both gone over the hill!” But actually, she aged pretty well, compared to many.

One of the greatest of all time. Don’t really care about his personal life though that story about his mother is pretty wild.

I knew most of those facts.
I’m not the jealousy type but I had a co-worker who spoke to Grant on a phone call, when he was on the board of directors of Faberge. Oh so jealous of her.
My favorite favorite actor.

Two of several odd facts:
Cary forced his 4th wife, Dyan Cannon to take LSD with him.
He contacted Good Housekeeping, hoping to write an article on promoting LSD use as therapy.
When 9 years old, Cary was told by his Dad, that Cary’s mom was taking a vacation. His father later told him, she had died. 30 years later, Cary got a letter. His Mom was still alive! She said she had been committed to a hospital by Cary’s father. He reunited with his Mom, but it was never that close. Too much had happened.

In 1980, Chevy Chase appeared on The Tom Snyder Show. When he was asked what he thought about being compared to Grant, Chase responded, "I understand he was a homo. He was brilliant. What a gal!” Grant didn't find the joke funny and sued Chase for $10 million. They settled out of court.

Two of my most favorite Cary Grant movies are Mr. Blandings Builds His Dreamhouse and Room for One More. They were departures from his usual dashing bachelor roles.

The cropduster scene was absurd. He could easily have crept deeper into the cornfield after each pass by the plane, pull a few leaves off to camo himself, lay low, and wait for the plane to need gas and leave or land.
Then the skilled pilot flies into the side of the bulk fuel truck. ????
As one very familiar with agriculture, I would have been curious as to why a cropduster would be dusting bare ground, in the fall, as seen before attacking Grant.

He married a twenty something when he was 58.
From the article, Chevy Chase is an unlikable person.

I almost never read these kinds of "articles" because they're just clickbait for the ads. But this one was actually very interesting and insightful. My particular favorite was the very last, which included what was said to be Grant's "favorite poem":
They bought me a box of tin soldiers.
I threw all the Generals away.
I smashed up the Sergeants and Majors.
Now I play with my Privates all day.
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.
