Time for a short distraction from the madness of the day. I Found this in an old file I had long forgot about, and thought it would be worth sharing. Like all things, women can be quite unpredictable and difficult at times to please. I thought this story was perfect for our times today with so many women in charge of so many things. Now I do believe there are good women out there, but it sure seems like the ones who want control the world seem to be the most incompetent. As we look around, we wonder why things just don't work like they used to. Thus this story hits the nail on the head.
The Husband Store
You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors, and the value of the products increases as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you may not go back down except to exit the building!
One day a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband for herself. At the first floor a sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs
She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.
'That's nice,' she thinks, 'but I want more.'
So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.
'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.
She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking, and Help With Housework.
'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!'
Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are visitor number 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.
It basically illustrates hypergamy, humorously. And humor only works well when there’s truth in it.
“And humor only works well when there’s truth in it.”
There was a recent survey on a dating site. They asked the question, “Would you be happy if you found a partner that had 80% of your desired attributes?” Men were much more likely to answer “yes” than women.
Thanks for posting, ROFLMAO 😋.
Thanks, excellent 👍.
THAT IS FUNNY——
PUT A LARGE WASTEBASKET THERE.....
I was never as pretty as Giselle-—BUT I would NEVER WALK AWAY FROM TOM BRADY.....
As long has been said, men marry a woman thinking she will nwver change, women marry a man thinking he will—and both are wrong.
I’m no Giselle fan, buy this was after a couple of decades and a couple of kids. Just as men refer to their always being another guy somewhere already sick of her stuff. I imagine that applies to even the most famous of the other sex.
Great point, and very true
“I was never as pretty as Giselle-——BUT I would NEVER WALK AWAY FROM TOM BRADY.....”
She remembered how she attracted guys (DiCaprio, Brady) when she was in her 20’s. She thought she could still do it at 42. She, like so many others, found out differently. Why they think it will be different for them, is beyond me.
Actually, what it could prove is the old adage, “Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors”.
To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.
The first floor has wives who love sex.
The second floor has wives who love sex, have money, and like beer.
The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth floors have never been visited.
When men were given photos of dateable women, and were asked whether or not they would consider dating them just by their photo, men found 50% of the women to be attractive enough to consider.
When they did the same to women, male photos of dateable men, the women found only 20% of the men to be attractive enough to consider.
Men are 2.5 times more open to dating based on looks than women are. Women are far, far more likely to turn down someone based on looks than men are.
I did.
